2040.

It was the time of revolution. That's what everyone remembered from that year. Technology was in the highest state that year from all the years before. Scientists had reached a milestone after the long 10 years of working nonstop. Knowledge had grown faster than anything else and more and more new advanced things kept being created to make life so much easier.

Schools had taught more and more complicated subjects as time went on. Even kindergartens taught education that were supposed to be taught when they're in 4 grade. Counting numbers and learning words had became natural for a toddler to do and learn by itself. Genetic had a big role in the human development for the last couple years. More and more geniuses kept born in each passing days, leaving a mark in the history of their creations or accomplishments. Experiments or inventions had became ordinary things overtime.

Now, everyone had their own inventions. Stepping into someone else's apartment and seeing a flying drone, making a tea and cleaning the dusts under the rug with those "high-tech absorbent device that i made myself when i was just eating dinner with my kids last night" wasn't that interesting anymore. And of course, human nature wouldn't just disappear with the appearance of genius genetics in your body. You'd hear the arrogance in every tone when someone's presenting their inventions to new people that they thought would be impressed and you'd guess it, no one's interested really. But what's human without one of those fake masks hanging on the wall over there, right? Especially the smiley one. Useful as always.

Nothing could be a surprise then.. well, at least if they had a talent. But not just an ordinary talent. No. Not singing. Not dancing. Not drawing. None of those. Being a genius had taught people that hardworking is something you could do for achieving literally anything. Well, except if your dream was to take over the world or stop a volcano from exploding. Keep it simple and clear, that's what they'd say. Hard for the ones who wanted to just disappear from the whole world's eyes. Impossible. They'd say that it's the key of reaching your dreams and had about the majority role of your path through the hard days. "Don't give up" or " keep going and don't listen to your inner demons". Classic.

The talent that we are speaking about isn't just some talent. Some may call it psychic, some may call it a gift, but no one would think of it as something she did. Everyone had their own perspectives and she clearly respected that but was it really that wrong to think of it as she always did? Just because she turned everyone's opinion upside down and made them her own, that didn't mean that she had to be different. No one should be treated that way.. well, at least that's what she thought. She knew that somewhere out there, there's someone or maybe a group of people, that thought of this "gift" like her. Having a perspective that matched her own and understand it as she did.

The other people, they didn't know it like she did. They'd say "it's a gift. only the lucky ones would have it". When everyone who had it would hate it until the very core. You see, these people had.. problems. And this "curse" made it twice worst. They didn't know it. They didn't feel it. They didn't see it like she did. And every time she looked into other people's eyes, every life would melt from her face and a million emotions would rush through her mind, taunting her and saying to her that everything wasn't okay. It never was. And it'd never will. Everyone who had the same opinion as her? She knew who they were. She knew what they were. They're out there. They're the same. They're also hurting inside. They're also crumbling slowly. Like she did. She and them are the same. It's a nightmare. It really was a nightmare, she'd give you that.
