"Iz, we've got to tell her, it'll really hurt her but she has to know" Tom sighed.
"You've got to tell who what?" Katrina asked her father. She was worried, her dad hardly ever cried.
"Kitty, come and sit down, we've got something to tell you", Izzie told Katrina. When Izzie had said this Katrina knew something was wrong.
"What's wrong?" Katrina asked.
"It's your mum, last night..." Tom said, trying to hold back the tears but not being able to finish what he was saying, but the tears just came spilling out anyway.
"last night, she...died" Tom finally managed to say. Seeing the shock on his daughter's face was enough to send him to tears again. Katrina tried to ask her dad and Izzie questions about what happened but couldn't seem to get any words out, she just sat and fell apart. Tom and Izzie rushed to her side, comforting her.
"She left this for you Kitty" Izzie managed to say through tears to Katrina and handed her an envelope
Katrina opened the envelope and in it was a silver zodiac necklace which she instantly recognised as her mum's and a letter. Picking up the letter, she instantly recognised the handwriting on the letter, her mum's, and when she did she let out a slight sob.

The letter itself read:
To my darling Katya,
I love you with all my heart, always remember that. I hope you understand why I had to go, I wanted you to be happy and you were never happy with me. Don't be sad about me for too long, try and have a nice, normal life for me. I did the best I could for you but I think you deserve more than me. Mum x
Once Katrina had read the letter her mum wrote her she got up and rushed out of the room, all she could think about is why her life was so complicated.
