I explained what happened to Froslass as best I could, without revealing what she really was. I pretended that she was a cat that belonged to my friend Yué, before she "moved away" because I had no idea how to explain that Yué was really the moon. I also said that she'd suddenly gotten very sick, and that I was worried I'd let Yué down if Froslass died. Iris gently patted my back, and said, "If the worst happens, and you lose the cat, I'm sure your friend would understand that it's not your fault at all." I tried my best to smile, and thanked Iris for her comforting words. Then, Talia asked, "I've never seen you here in town before, are you new?" Thankfully, Harry and I had a story that we planned ahead of time, so when people ask us these questions, we know how to answer. I said that we were on an exchange program that allows you to bring animals with us, and that they have a hostel (a hostel is kinda like an airBnB combined with a motel. There are multiple staying in the house all at once, and someone owns it, but it's not like there are owners that usually live there, if that makes any sense) for the exchangees to stay. *Crash!* the door to the smoothie bar suddenly burst open, and standing in the doorway was Harry, with his Pancham on top of his head, and our Eevee by his feet. His sharp eyes quickly spotted me on the couch with Talia, Auriana, Iris, and the Pokémon I'd brought to keep me company. He dashed over to me and blurted, "FroslasswokeupandNurseJoyischeckingonhernowandsaysshe'llbefinebuttheywanttokeepherabitlongertobesure!" Tears I had been holding in since Froslass got hurt started to flow freely down my cheeks, and I squished Harry in a hug so big, he looked like he might burst. I turned to the three girls still sitting on the couch, "Thank you. For everything," I said. Iris smiled, "No problem! I'm just glad your cat's okay! Hope to see you around sometime. Bye!" She and her friends waved as we left the shop.
*Timeskip to about a week later*
"You ready Growlithe?" I called to the tiger-patterned Puppy Pokémon. "Growlithe Growl!" Came his response "I'm always ready, silly." I laughed as I flung the tennis all as hard as I could. Vivillon used Gust to give the ball a bit more momentum, and Growlithe dashed madly after it. He caught the ball in his mouth just before it hit the ground, and without missing a beat, turned around and came racing back. "Good boy," I told my trusted Pokémon. Growlithe smiled a doggy smile that even someone who can't understand Pokémon would be able to know meant, "I'm always a good boy." I stood up and stretched. "Okay team! Playtime's over for now. Let's get to work preparing for the next TriPokelon tournament!" I had decided that for the performance round, I would use Pokémon that represented the four Elements- Earth, Water, Fire, and Air. I had already chosen Growlithe to represent Fire, and I'd picked Pidgeot for Air, so I let the majestic bird Pokémon out of his Pokeball. After mulling over my options for the other two Elements, I picked up their Pokeballs and let them free. "Piplup Pip!" The small blue penguin like Pokémon popped out of her ball, and waddled over to Purrloin and Meowth, who were cuddled up with Liepard and their dad, Persian. "Venusaur Vena!" Next came a huge blue dinosaur-esque Pokémon with a huge flower on its back. "Hi Venusaur!" The big Pokémon came over and nuzzled me. Venusaur had been my very first Pokémon so we had a really close bond. Pidgeot hopped over to see his best friend, so they could catch up. Pidgeot was the very first Pokémon I ever caught, so he and Venusaur became fast friends. As a Pidgey, he always rode around on Bulbasaur's head. "Ok! Let's get to work!" I shouted. We had been working on our routine for about an hour, when there was suddenly a flash of red, and crystal began to rain everywhere. I quickly recalled Venusaur, Piplup, and Pidgeot so they wouldn't get hurt. "Growlithe! Go sniff out Harry! Liepard, Persian, go back to the Pokémon Center. I don't want you guys to get hurt. Vivillon, go with them." I commanded. "Well well well. It looks like we meet again." Praxina taunted from up above. "Scared your widdle friend will get hurt?" I growled and yelled, "No! But soon you will be!" Even though she was right. Mephisto laughed, and fired off an attack, but I managed to avoid it.
Iris's POV: "Thanks Nathaniel," I said, blushing, as my childhood friend set down our smoothies. As I stared absentmindedly out the window, I noticed a familiar purple cat running by. "Hey girls, doesn't that look like the cat that girl Stella introduced to us last week?" Talia looked out the window to see. "Yes, it must be hers." I looked at my friends, "let's follow her, she might be lost, and very worried!" Auriana and Talia agreed, so we took off.
Stella's POV: I continued to dodge Mephisto and Praxina's attacks, while firing off some of my own. We were on a rocky terrain, perfect for me to practice my Earth bending. I was using the earth to make a shield for a few minutes when there was a burst of fire right behind me. I turned and saw Growlithe, with Harry on his heels. Now, it was two against two, two against four if you counted Growlithe and Squirtle, the only Pokémon we'd let stay with us. Harry and I were managing to keep our opponents attacks off pretty well, with some assistance from the two Pokémon, when I saw a purple ball of darkness get shot at the maroon haired teens. I glanced behind me and saw Liepard had come back. "Liepard!" I cried, "Go! I can't have you get hurt!" I shouted. "Liepard Lie Liepar," she meowed. "You've done so much for me, I couldn't just leave and do nothing." I teared up at Liepard's words, and in my momentary distraction, I almost missed Harry shouting, "Stella! Liepard! Watch out!" I saw a huge ball of dark matter heading straight for Liepard. Without thinking, I threw my arms up in a protective "X" and shouted, "Shieldo!" As I jumped in front of Liepard. (It's a spell I made up years ago, it's a protective bubble, but also uses up a lot of energy the longer you keep it going). The protective bubble with its slightly golden shimmer had just barely encased me when I was hit by the powerful spell.
Iris's POV: We followed the cat as fast as we could, losing sight of her every once in a while, but quickly finding her again. She ran quickly, so we ducked into an alley to cast a spell that would allow to follow in the air. We floated up on magical surfboard type things. Mine was a pink star, Talia's a blue diamond, and Auriana's was an orange moon. As we continued the chase, I noticed that Liepard was running toward a deserted part of town, that had rocky hills. We landed by one of the hills to continue on foot. We couldn't see Liepard anymore, but we knew which way she'd gone. When we rounded the top of the next hill, Talia came to an abrupt stop. "Girls, look!" She whispered urgently. "Are those Mephisto and Praxina?" Auriana pointed in the direction Talia was looking. "I think so," Talia responded, just as the twins fired off a huge spell right at a girl.
Stella's POV: I opened my eyes and saw a purple world. "Why didn't Shieldo reflect the spell back?" I heard Harry ask no one in particular. Praxina cackled, "Now that she's frozen in black crystal, she'll be no help to you!" I wiggled my fingers. What is she talking about? I thought. I'm not frozen. I tried to think of a way out of my purple prison, when Mephisto and Praxina were suddenly thrown back. I saw Liepard in front of me, meowing at them, telling them to leave us alone. Mephisto recovered from Liepard's attack and hurled something at Harry, who didn't have time to dodge, and was thrown into the side of a hill with an "Oof." Anger boiled within me, and before I knew what was happening, I felt the Airbender tattoos that show up when I go full Avatar appear. They began to glow, and so did my eyes. I placed my hands on the crystal that was encasing me and somehow destroyed it. As I walked toward our opponents, the wind started to whip up, putting them off balance. I began throwing chunks of earth at them, when suddenly there were pink, light blue and orange crystals joining in with the earth. I saw three girls land in front of me, one with pink hair, one with orange hair, and one who's hair was light blue. Then, the trio stood back to back, and shouted something that I couldn't understand. A huge blast of light came from the wands I noticed that they were holding, and Mephisto and Praxina vanished. As I finally used up the last of my energy, my tattoos disappeared, and I fainted.
Gosh that was a very long chapter! I just had so much I wanted to say, and didn't really know where to stop. I hope you're enjoying the story so far! I'll update again soon, but until then, stay Elegant!
