My name is Katie Greene. The apocalypse started 4 months ago. When it started I was at my best friend Emily's house.

•Flashback•

"Emm! I wanna watch the notebook!" I said

"No. Let's watch a scary movie" Emily said

"Em! Kay! Get a back packed with food any other nessicaritys! We need to leave! Now!"

Emily's mother shouted.

"What's going on" I asked

"These people. There's a disease going around and it spreads through biting other people! Kinda like zombies. We need to leave! It isn't safe here!" Emily's mom said.

"NOO! I NEED MY FAMILY!" I screamed.

"Katie we need to go it's not safe!" She said dragging me to the car.

•flashback over•

I'm sitting in my "room" staring at the ceiling. Emily and her mom Sam are sleeping next to me. I sit and think. I really wish I know what was happening with Maggie and Beth and daddy and Patricia and Otis and jimmy. I really miss them. As I think about how life was before this I fall into a deep sleep.

I awake in a room bymyself. I walk into the kitchen and see a 2 notes on the counter.

I read the first one.

*Dear Katie,

I'm sorry we had to leave. We had to go out and look for the rest of our family and you and your negativity about everything was affecting Em. You weren't at your best health and we couldn't risk bringing you and getting you sick. I hope you understand.

I blink the tears out of my eyes as I reach for the next letter.

*Dear Katie,

Katie! I really didn't want to leave. I mean I did want to find the rest of my family. But I wanted you to come with! But my mom said no and dragged me away! I'm soso sorry! You were the bestest friend I've ever had and I love you! But now is your chance! You can go and find Beth and Maggie and the rest of your family! Please don't be mad at me! I hope we find each other again one day! I love you! Good luck!

I was now sobbing. I went to the fridge and saw they left me some food and supplies. I walked upstairs and put my clothes in a bag. I found a picture and me my family and Emily and I put it in my bag. I put on my locket with a picture of me Maggie and Beth. I grabbed a bag of food and set out to find my family.

Alone.
