NO HUMANITY

Mr. Wington?

I headed straight towards the smoke, where I heard the screaming. I could make out a family, "Use your shirts to cover your mouth and follow me!" I yelled out orders.

I ended up finding as much people as I could and herded them back to the tunnel where Aspen and Levi are. I asked Aspen for my backpack and pulled out the 6 water bottles I had. They settled down after I handed out some water to each group including Levi and Aspen. "Thank you so much." A woman who held a crying baby in her arms thanked me.

I smiled in return, "Of course. If it was me I'd hope someone would help too." Eventhough my lungs were inflamed as hell from all the running through smoke I just did, it felt good to be needed. I looked up to see Levi staring at me, but when our eyes met, he quickly looked away.

A few seconds later, the fog had cleared up. We were able to see that not much damage happened. "Okay, everyone it's safe go back and restore your shelters!" I said watching people fix their tents.

A man came up to me that was in one of the groups, "Thank you so much for saving us! My name's Mr. Wington. I'm the founder of this underground bunker." He stuck his hand out for me to shake. I shook it with an awkward smile. "I got to go see what happened but I really won't forget this!" He said as he went to the control room. 

Aspen came up to me shortly after., "My brother and I talked it out, and we were wondering if you would be willing to... I don't know, form a group together?"

"Um, sure. Why not?" I said back sheepishly. A nuclear bomb went off this morning, I really have no complaints about anything anymore.

She smiled giving me an awkward side hug, "Thanks. We'll help with everything!"

We decided to camp up in this corner area by the Storage tunnel. Levi and Aspen went to go get the resources being passed out from the storage room as I set up the tent. After it was all done, I dusted my hands and marveled at my work. I went inside to check out the space and it turned out to be enough for all three of us. I set down my back pack and took out the fire starters and an empty can. I grabbed the fire starters and can, then went outside around the back area of the tent. I pulled my shirt off and ripped it up into strips. I threw one of the strips in the can. I used the fire starter to light it. "Voilà! FIRE!" I squealed to no one in particular, proud of my accomplishments.

I heard someone clapping behind me, and turned around. Levi stood there with an amused look on his face, probably because he caught me talking to myself. I scowled. His eyes trailed down and then went wide. He quickly looked away as his cheeks turned red. I scrunched my face in confusion, then looked down at my body. "Oh my gosh!" I squeaked. I was just in my bra! I threw my hands over my chest as I internally called myself stupid for forgetting that I ripped my shirt up. 

"Davina, we were able to get some foo-!" Aspen walked in to see me and her brother, flushed and blushing! "Uh, am I interrupting something." She said with her eyebrows high and walked away. What? She just- No, it's not what is looks like!! I screamed internally.

Levi then began to take off his shirt, catching me off gaurd. I blushed a bit, averting my eyes. Though I caught a glimpse of his toned build. He then covered his own eyes and handed me his shirt. "Here."

I took it sheepishly and put it on. Huh, smells of cedarwood...  I thought as I sniffed the shirt. I heard a chuckle, "Did you just sniff it?" He asked bemused, hid hand still over his eyes.

I immediately turned red. "Thanks." I told him almost in a whisper, then ran off to meet up with Aspen.

She had a can of beans that could be used for our dinner, the whole reason I started a fire. I took out some aluminum foil that I packed and handed it to her. Aspen volunteered to cook it since she told me she knows how from some camp. I went in the tent and turned on the universal radio, that I brought. SHHHHHSHHHSHSHHHS!

Welp, so much for that.

"Davina!" Aspen called, her voice sounded worried. But for some reason I didn't pay much mind to the tone.

"Give me a minute!" I called back. A scream cut through the room, that made me jump to my feet. I grabbed my machete and ran towards the noise.

I get to the scene just in time to see a man getting eaten by some monster. "Ugh, that's gonna leave a rotting image in my mind, forever." I step towards it, slowly and carefully. "Everyone step back, go to safety." I demand in a somewhat quiet voice. No one moved so I yelled again, "Go!" This time a little louder. 

They all scurry away, and the ferocious monster is eating away at it's meal.
Mr. Wington? Crap, who's gonna run this damned place now. 

I took slow steps towards the predator and it stopped eating. I hold my machete like a shield, in case this thing comes charging after me. It's left leg twitches, and before I know it, it lunges at me! I use my machete-shield to protect me from this pig-mutant. I fall hard on the ground from it's impact, the pig's three rows of teeth are merely snapping my head off. I switch my arm with my machete's place, my forearm against it's neck, as it tries to chomp at me. I swing my machete and SWISH. The pig-mutants head comes off. I let go of my body control and lay on the floor. Looking at the ceiling, the light too bright for my liking. Thank god that's over!

I hear some scratching, I look at where the noise came from, "SHIT!" I curse upon seeing this god-forsaken thing is still alive. It's headless figure is somewhat creepy, giving me a shiver. It's hoofs retract claws and it comes charging after me. "What the hell!" I say just as I barely dodged it's lunge. "How the hell can it know where I am?!" I look at the pig head to see the eyes are looking around then focus on me. "Well, shit." 

Just as I turn back around I get knocked over again. This time my butt takes a toll on the fall. The mutants claws dig into my shoulders, I wail in pain, I get my machete and chop off both of it's front legs. "Ha Ha, Mother fucker!" I scream and cackle like a mad women, How much blood am I losing right now?

I shove the pig off, and pull out the legs from each shoulder! I wince as I see how much blood is escaping from my wounds. 

Once again the pig comes after me, on it's two back legs. What the hell, this thing is insane! I kick it with my full force. It flies across the room hitting a wall. I run over to it and stab the hell out of it. Then I walk up to the pig head and bash it in with my foot. 

I don't know if it was the adrenaline that kept me going or what, but I guess it must've stopped. Because next thing I know, I fall to the ground and everything started to fade out. Last thing I see are Levi and Aspen looming over me.

"Who the hell are you?" was all I heard before shutting my eyes.
