We have to move again, of course we do. And just as I was starting to get settled down. My mom lost her job again. Of course she did, how couldn't she? Squirting saline at her boss isn't the best way of telling her that she needs an extra 30 minutes added to her lunch break. I know what you might be thinking, " what about your dad?" Yeah well of course I have a dad, otherwise I wouldn't be here. But he isn't the best fatherly figure. He was always out late at night, bars and buying women. So my mom divorced him. But hey, who wouldn't.
Anyways, today is my first day here in Forks, Washington. It's super small and there isn't too much to do. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what school brings me tomorrow.
My alarm went off a few minutes early today, obviously because I set it to go off early. I wanted to make sure that I had plenty of time to get ready and make sure I looked perfect.
When I ran down stairs to go get breakfast my mom was already up. Which was surprising because she's starting to turn into my dad a little bit at a time. "Oh well look who's up." She said. I looked in her hands and saw that she already had a bottle of tequila in her hand and I also saw that it was already almost half empty. "Good morning to you too mom."
I couldn't believe this. Every time before we more she always tells me that it'll be a great chance to restart. But every time she just goes straight back to the liquor.
I was so fed up with the way she's been doing this. So I grabbed nothing but an apple, grabbed my backpack, and ran to the bus stop. There was no one there, considering that I was 20 minutes early. So I started digging through my backpack and realized that I never cleaned it out from when I moved from Florida to here. So I started going through all my papers and started throwing them away in a near by trash can. After I'd finished, I sat down in the curb and thought about how my day was going to be. Will I make a lot of friends? Will I make any friends? Will people be nice to me?
But as I was staring thoughtlessly into thin air, I saw something glide by in the slight breeze. I got up and went over to pick it up. It was a script to the play Charlie And The Chocolate Factory. I wondered what it was for, then I saw in the bottom left hand corner that it was for Forks High School, the school I was going to.
I sat down out of my own boredom and started to read the script. It seemed like there was a lot going on. But it was incredible how so many different characters with so many different lines could make a masterpiece. But as I heard footsteps come from around the corner, I shoved the paper in my backpack. I didn't want my first impression on someone to make me seem like a nerd.
