As the footsteps got louder and louder I got more anxious to see who was coming. Then I saw a small piece of paper sticking out of my bag. It was the scripts. So I shaved them back in right as a short girl appeared.
When she saw me she seemed surprised. Maybe it was because there were no people at the bus stop this early. Or maybe she already didn't like me.
Then a huge smile appeared on her face as she stuck out her arm. "hi, I'm Kate." I'm not a really big hand shaker but that would be rude just to leave her hanging. So I reached out my arm to meet hers. "I'm Tyler." I said.
"I've never seen you around here before, are you new?" She asked curiously.
"Yeah I just moved here from Michigan."
"Oh that's really cool." Just as she finished her sentence, a big old squeaky bus pulled around the corner.
As the old doors swung open, I climbed aboard. But right as I started to sit down, the bus driver told me to get up. So I did (duh obviously).
"What's your name kid?" He asked in a deep and dark voice.
"I'm Tyler Boyce."
"Ok, pick a seat kid, but be careful the seat you choose is the one you'll be staying in for the rest of the year."
As I walked down the isle of the old rusty bus, I saw no empty seats. But down in the back sat Kate.
I didn't really want to sit anywhere else, also because there weren't anymore seats left, so I sat right next to her. "Hey, are you nervous?" She asked me as the bus started pulling its old body up a slight hill.
"Yeah, a little." I said this with intention that I wasn't really in the mood for talking. I think she got the hint.
The rest of the ride went by really fast. The only main parts I remember were a couple kids getting on the fell while walking down the isle.
When the bus stopped in front of the school, the whole bus jerked foreword sending a few kids flying out of their seats. "Yeah, you'll have to get used to that." She said with a smirk.
While everyone piled off the bus, I could have sworn there was a few people that got trampled.
When I finally got of the bus, I didn't know where to go. It was bad enough being the new kid, but it was even worst being the new kid that started school in the middle of the school year. So when I looked around, I didn't know where to go or who to sit with.
So I just went slowly to the side of the school and pulled out the script I found at the bus stop.
"Oh hey, you found my script." A familiar said cheerfully.
When I looked up, I saw Kate.
"Oh yeah sorry." I said as I extended my arm out to give it back to her.
"No, no it's fine. Keep it."
She said smiling.
"Thanks." I said smiling back. Just as I sat back down to read it, the bell rang.
So I got up and started walking to my first period. It was drama.
