And the messages go on and on she felt terrible that she had been avoiding him he cared so much while she was being a bitch , instantly she crawl on her bed throwing a blancket over her body before curling in a ball crying herself to sleep. The following morning true to his promise a car was out front waiting on her when she had entered the guy had introduce himself as Troy, Quan soon to be beta other than the introduction there was no other discussion this went on for weeks when the beta would come and collect her she hadn't seen or heard from Quan and she had become obsess with her phone keep checking if she receive a message from him but so far she had not heard from him. Four months that's how long she hasn't seen or heard from him Katie didn't know how much more she could take she wasn't sleeping , eating and it was agony even concentrating on her studies, a week in December she had went away to look for her aunt when she came back she heard that Quan had been inducted as Alpha she had felt hurt because it look to her that he was just waiting for a day when she wasn't there to turn Alpha now it was in the middle of January and she was in the back of the SUV that the beta always use to carry her to school and she couldn't take it any longer she had to ask

"Where is Quan?"

"The Alpha is around Luna." She cringe when she heard what he called her, she was no Luna her name was Katie but she didn't have the time or patient her main priority was Quan

"Around? That's funny because I haven't seen him for months now but yet he's around I'm his mate god damn it! you tell him I need to see him you got that?"

"Yes Luna." With that the rest of the car ride was silent as he let her off at school. That day at school Lattie kept giving her odd stares for some reason Katie was in a very sour mood

"What? You keep staring at me is something on my face?"

"No, it's just that you look a little under the weather are you OK?"

"Of course I'm OK are you OK? from you found your mate I haven't seen you much and that saying a lot since we share the same classes."

"I know and I'm sorry but Mark takes a lot of my time he's such a sweet heart I think we should go out on a date with our boys since we have found our mate wouldn't that be awesome and beside since Tom isn't here at the moment he wouldn't feel left out." Katie couldn't stop herself from cringing she had upset her mate months ago and she hasn't seen him since nor speak to him and Tom has went away on a family emergency now Lattie wanted to go on a double date with their mate when hers wasn't speaking to her how lovely.

"I don't think that's possible at the moment."

"What do you mean not possible Katie what have you done?"

"Why do you think I have done something?"

"Because you did else you wouldn't be cringing like you are in pain if you didn't and I have been watching you lately and each time you come to school you look sicker and you're not paying attention in school you keep zooming out what's wrong did Quan reject you?" Lattie ask in a hush tone sighing Katie reply

"No he has not, but I told him I didn't want to be a Luna and that I wasn't ready for a mate and that I didn't want any of it."

"Katie!!!"

"I know OK, I fucked up now he isn't talking to me I haven't seen him in four months and its taking a toll on me."

"You know I'm your friend and all and I will forever have your back but girl you deserve it how could you tell him that, you didn't say you reject him with the words but honey that's exactly what it was rejection, I know you want to go to college but that wouldn't stop you from being a Luna did you put what you wanted in life on the table the few times you guys went on dates?"

"No."

"Then how in hell do you expect him to know what you want Katie, that was selfish what you did and there is no excuse for what you did, do you know how much girl would kill to have the mate that you have? do you even see the guy the moon goddess has bless you with? if I could I would have ask for your mate but that isn't how it is the moon goddess bless us with our mates for a reason and you are walking all over yours I'm angry at you right now I got to go you make sure you fix things with him I thought I was your friend and you have kept this from me for so long."

With that Katie watch her friend walk out the room the teacher calling out after her but she did not turn back around, the rest of the day pass by in a blur when it was finally time to leave the compound she slowly drag herself to her locker depositing some books before closing it and making her way outside with her head held down by now she didn't have to open her eyes to locate the car that picks her up since it always park in the same spot. when she walk up to the car door to open it she find out that someone was blocking her way she find it strange since the beta is always inside waiting for her to hop in looking up at the stranger when her breath caught in her throat

"I heard you wanted to see me."

Katie didn't know what came over her but she rush into his arms holding him as close to her as possible she felt his arms wrap around her and for some reason it had her bursting in tears if she was being truthful she had missed him a lot she miss getting his messages, him coming to pick her up, him taking her out and she most of all she miss his hugs and kisses. She didn't know how long she stayed in his arms crying like an idiot but when she calm down and remove any evidence of her crying Quan open the passenger side for her to get in beside him in the front, when they were safely out on the streets they did not say anything to each other couple minutes later they pulled up at a restaurant while Quan find a table for them Katie made her way to the bathroom to freshen up when she came back out she found Quan seated with two steaming sets of food place on the table taking the seat opposite from Quan she stared at the food not looking at her mate she stated

"I'm not hungry."

"Eat you are far too thin than the last time I have seen you." Was his reply. Sighing Katie take up the fork and proceed to eat half way through her food she stated

"Where were you?"

"I've been around."

Katie was tired of hearing that statement she wanted something more than I've been around.

"Yeah ? Well funny I haven't seen you around for months now." Katie watch as he put down his eating utensils and take a sip of water leaning forward on the table staring deeply in her eyes before he reply

"I gave you what you wanted Katie you stated you weren't ready for a mate nor did you want to be a Luna hell you didn't even want any of it." What he said was true she did say that but now she was more than confuse she was turning eighteen in a week time, graduation was right around the corner and she had receive letters from few of the college that she apply for she had just not figured which one she would choose yet all she wanted was to be around Quan refusing to answer to what her mate had stated she ask a question of her own
