(AN: photo above is Gracie/Katherine's baby girl. Also going to be a very short chapter, maybe 700-900 words)

I woke up to Gracie crying. I hesitantly got up seeing it was still dark! I shuffled to Gracie's room, I look down at the crying baby girl and pick her up. I start to walk around the room bouncing her up and down gently while I hum a lullaby.

"You okay?" I turn around and see Elijah's sleepy form. I smile.

"Yes, sorry she woke you." I whisper to Elijah since Gracie finally fell back to sleep.

Elijah comes up from behind me and looks at her. He rubs her head and Gracie smiles. Elijah sighs and kisses my temple.

"He's still here." Elijah refers to Alexander.

"I thought he would've left by now?" I chuckle softly laying Gracie down in her crib.

"Me too!" Elijah says with surprise. We walk out of the room and go into the kitchen seeing Alexander on the couch with a grumpy, sleeping, face. I scoff out loud.

"When is he ever happy?" I shake my head and grab a glass of water.

"I heard that." Alexander said with a groggy voice. I rolled my eyes, Gracie started to whine again and I sighed.

"How 'bout you take care of your daughter, Alexander?" Elijah said.

"I'll do-" I was cut off by Alexander.

"I'll do it!" Alexander said angrily. I hesitantly trusted that he would hold and help Gracie the correct way.

"I'm going to go check on her."  I went to Gracie's room and leaned against the door seeing Alexander picking Gracie up and rocking her with Caution.

"I know you don't want to care for her, Alexander." He turned around and I started to step towards him.

"Don't say that." Alexander looks down at Gracie.

"But how can I not when it's the truth?" I ask sitting down in the rocking chair.

"I don't know if I would be a good father or a good husband." Alexander says and I furrow my eyebrows.

"Husband?" I ask.

"If I marry you so we can take care of her." Alexander sets Gracie down.

"So, you'd only marry me because she's your daughter?" I ask angrily and stand up. "Not because you care or love me!?" I start to walk but he grabs my hand.

"That didn't come out right, Katherine." He sighs.

"Oh no, it came out perfectly understandable!" I snatch my hand back and walk out of the room.

It was daylight outside finally and birds were chirping. I stand up to stretch and pop my body, grabbing a black tank top and grey shorts I slip them on and go into Gracie's room. It was creepily silent so I went to check if she was okay. Gracie was asleep, I picked her up gently and grabbed the gun I hid. Walking into every room there was nothing. Getting to living room/kitchen it was empty until I found a note.

'Dear Katherine ,
Me and Elijah had some gang business to attend to. Be safe and protect our child!
Love, Alexander'

I scoff and set the note down along with my gun. I decided Gracie should get some fresh air instead of being cooped up in her crib. Going outside I sat down on the chair on the porch, staring at the endless trees in line like chess pons. I was secluded and alone at this cabin in the middle of no where.
