That was the best sentence I could come up with. I couldn't have said God bless you, oh wait, he was a God. A hot and beastly one. Well, I am sorry for having hormones.
The first few words I tell to a drool-worthy guy is this?!?
If he were dead right now, I was pretty sure half the girls on this planet would hold some peace march or cut off their hair or something like that.
"You were dead for one second."
As he recovered, I noticed a ghost of a smirk playing on his lips and then he was his grumpy old self again. But the biggest surprise of all was that he did not call me a freak or a weirdo who had to go see a psychiatrist.
I am not saying that he praised me for what I said and told me he finally knew why I had a 4.2 GPA. But he grunted in response. A grunt was actually not that bad coming from him. An animals grunts. A bear grunts. And a bear grunts for various things. For instance when he/she is happy or sad or he/she forgets the name of a character in Percy Jackson.
I pushed away the bear-y thoughts and focused on my fidgeting hands. I was clearly very embarrassed.
I couldn't glance at anything else. I could literally hear my funeral death bells ringing violently in my ears as I heard Camilla taking in a deep breath as she was calming and stopping herself from murdering me.
And that was how I was paired up with the grizzly bear for the project.
And him caring about this project would be like Camilla becoming a nun. And the latter was completely, totally impossible.
I was shaken from my deep thoughts about the guy whose ego was bigger than Mexico by the bell. Not the funeral bells. The bell that signified that I had to head to my next class. Immediately.
As I looked up, I noticed that Mr.Andrew had already stalked out of the classroom and I saw his shadow disappear down the corridor. That guy was a failure. And a bear.

"Uh-huh." said Joey as she eyed her burger with a look of utter disgust. I stared at her blankly, tapping my frayed textbook against the cafeteria table.
She needed a few seconds to register what I was saying. And surely, after a few very pained seconds she widened her eyes- so much that I felt like her eye brows could disappear beneath her hair. But that was not possible so-
"You what?!", She almost yelled at me. She leaned forward as if I was about to tell her some very classified information. "You what?", she whispered this time.
I rolled my eyes and with an exasperated sigh I continued. "Yes. Andrew Bowers. History project. Paired up."
I started opening a pack of Pringles, but Joey snatched it from me.
"Hey!", I argued as I snatched the packet from her hands again, and before she could protest, I dug my hand inside and started eating a handful of them. "It's not a big deal anyway. Really. He is never going to meet up with me for this project because he obviously thinks I am a freak. So basically I have to do this project on my own, and this makes me so happy." I grinned at her and she just gave me a blank stare.
"You are nuts." She said, after a few seconds of silence. "You have a chance to talk to Andrew Bowers, Riley. That is not a small feat. He is..he..." She trailed off, sighing softly. I rolled my eyes. Again. My friend is crazy over him. So very crazy.
I opened my tiffin and found out that my mom had packed me Nutella sandwiches. I love her so very much. Suddenly my tiffin was snatched from me.
"God, what is everyone's problem with me and my food." I said angrily as I turned behind, only to see Andrew Bowers staring down reluctantly at me. I also noticed that the entire cafeteria was staring at us. And I didn't blame them for being curious. Andrew talking to a girl that they never knew existed was a sight that pretty much no one had ever seen. Even Joey seemed surprised.
"Can I talk to you for one second?" he asked me with a smirk. He was leaning against our table so that his back was facing Joey and I got the side the view of his body. His jawline. "Just a second?" I was shaken from my trance, and I started fidgeting again.
"Uh-uhm- was the pun intended?" I asked him nervously.
He leaned in closer to me and I was struck suddenly with the cologne of lemongrass. I avoided gazing into those eccentric eyes because damn, you could stare at them all day long. He whispered very softly, "Do you want me to?"
He noticed my confused expression but still waited for my reply.
"Want you to what?" I asked, my voice a bit louder than before.
He responded by placing his finger on his lips as if he wanted me to shut up. "Be quiet. Don't want others to know right?" He spoke again, that stupid, God awful smirk never leaving his lips.
"Know about what?" I asked him, annoyance quite noticeable in my voice.
"About us." He said, his eyes searching mine, as I focused on my tiffin box in his hand. My sandwiches.
That was stupid. It made me a bit nervous, but it was stupid.
"In your dreams." I muttered softly so that no one but Andrew and Joey could hear it. I heard Joey draw in a sharp breath, as Andrew looked at me, amusement clear in his eyes.
"Feisty, aren't we?", He gave me a sly smile. "You are going to wish you never said that." He have me his I-am-neutral-to-all expression and stalked off, taking my Nutella sandwiches along with him. The entire cafeteria was again full of noises, and many people talking about the incident.
My poor Nutella sandwiches.
I glared at Andrew's retreating figure, and then violently ripped open my yoghurt box, and almost stabbed my spoon inside.
He was a jerk.

The bell rang, and the entire class emptied outside. School was finally over. I stalked off to my locker to keep all of my textbooks. As I opened my locker, I noticed my tiffin lying inside with a note stuck on top of it.
We meet up tommorrow. Your place. Your room ;)
