Old Friends (Jughead x Reader)

Chapter Two: why?

"Jughead, I missed you so much." I said bringing him into a big hug.

Your POV

I could hear the sound of Jughead's heart beat, the thumping became quick and hard, he seemed tense at the feel of my touch so I detatched myself and glanced up at him.

"Juggie I-"

"Don't call me that" He spoke with bitterness leaking in his voice.

"Why are you acting like this?" I asked slightly offended and outright confused, my eyebrows knitted together as I saw him with an 'are you serious' expression on his face.

"Why? Why am I acting like this? Why did you leave??"  His voice raised as he crossed his arms and tilted his head slightly, awaiting for my response.

"You know why I left, Why are you so angry with me?" I asked obviously hurt

"Because Y/n, You left me."

"Jughead I had no choice!" I spoke with a slightly louder voice

"You don't know what it was like! What it was like to be alone, my mother and sister left me too, and there was no one here for me!" I didn't know what to say, it was clear that he was hurting.

"Jughead I-- I'm so sorry" I said quietly lowering my head and look down 

"Y/N!" I heard my name being called in the distance and the shuffling of Jughead's feet walking past me.

"Jughead please!" I said turning around with a shaky voice and on the verge of tears. I noticed Betty and Archie were walking in my direction. When Jughead passed them it looked like he was giving Archie a dirty look but my vision was starting to get blurry due to the tears forming. I placed my hands over my face and took deep breaths then I felt arms wrap around me.

"Y/n what happened?" I heard Betty's soft voice ask

"Jughead is upset with me, my first day back and it's already gone to shit" I let out a shaky breath and a small sad smile was placed on my lips as I released from Betty's hug, then Archie walked towards us after talking -- more like arguing with Jughead.

"What's going on between you and Jug?" I questioned Archie, his face fell

"That's not important, what happened back at the diner? and what happened between you and Jughead?"

"It's kind of a long story" I started then paused for a moment biting my lip. 

"Veronica and I, we used to know each other back when I lived in New York. Long story short she was a total bitch, turned everyone against me all because I was the new girl, those two years in New York weren't the best. Now Jughead is mad at me and I don't know how to fix it." I let out a long sigh 

"When you left, it effected him the most, he was feeling really down for awhile and I dont think he's been the same ever since, you just got to give him some time." Betty said gently rubbing my back. "As for Veronica, we just have to wait and see what happens next." I felt a vibration from inside my pocket indicating I got a text message, I pulled out my phone and saw it was from my mom

'Where are you?' It read, meaning she  was home. Great

"I gotta go home now, thank you guys, for everything" I hugged them both and began walking back home. I plugged in my headphones and listened to some music.The walk home was quick, I pulled open the door of my house and walked in only to hear my parents arguing, rolling my eyes I walked up stairs quietly and grabbed my leather jacket and made my way back outside. I wasn't in the mood for my parents shit right now.
