So I'm doing an essay in History
We just watched the movie The Patriot and we have to wright a 250-400 word essay on if we would be a patriot or a loyalist and why.
I chose to be a patriot
So the only reason I'm writing the essay on here is because Wattpad has a word counter so I know how many words I'm writing lol
You don't have to read it if you don't want, but I haven't posted anything in a hot minute so I just thought I'd let you know that I'm not dead c:

From watching The Patriot and looking through notes in class, I decided that I would be a Patriot. Now, I know it's kind of bad going against your leader and wanting to form a new country, but I don't think Britain is right for me. I'd want to break away because Britain's laws to citizens aren't really fair. For example, putting stamps on things like newspapers and playing cards just to get more money isn't really the smartest thing Britain has done. I mean, if President Trump wants to put tax stamps on Chinese food, I'd boycott it too, no matter how much I love Chinese food. Another reason I'd want to be a Patriot is because I would want to get the word out there. What I mean by this is I want to make a difference, something that will change people's lives. You don't change anything when you're being controlled by another country. Another reason I'd want to be a Patriot is I don't like playing by the rules. I know, that's bad, but the thrill of going against something that you're expected to do isn't like anything else. The final reason is that I'd want freedom. It's obvious that the British barely gave the colonists any freedom or say in anything. They basically said "Okay, we are going to put a tax on sugar, playing cards, newspapers, contracts, wills, and pamphlets and all of you are going to have to deal with it.". The colonist's couldn't do anything about it. All they could to was just let the British control them. I wouldn't want to be controlled by tea drinking British people.
