Space camp A Rhett and Link fanfic

Arrived

My parents told us that it was time to go so I put the picture into my suitcase and raced Cole to the car. I lost the race, as always. When we finally left the house and got out of Buies Creek, my hometown, my mom said, " I bet yall are wondering where we are going... well we are taking yall to space camp!" Cole and I screamed "SPACE CAMP!" at the top of our lungs and our parents said, " yes, space camp." We all started laughing until our stomachs hurt. All I could think about was what would Link do if he came with us, that made me feel a bit sad because we were so far apart and I don't think that I will be able to call him while at space camp. Everyone in the car noticed that I was sad and they asked me why I looked so sad and I just told them that I miss Link and they told me that the time would fly by and I would get to see him in no time, that made me feel a lot better. We had been in the car for about an hour and we were running low on gas so we had to stop at a very sketchy gas station. We had about another half-hour to go before we were at space camp. My mom gave me and Cole some money that we could use to call someone on the pay phone, I called Link and asked him about his aunt's house and who else was there, but I didn't tell him about space camp because I didn't want to upset him. When my time ran out, I still had about $1.25 left so I went inside and got some chips and a bottle of water. I got into the car and saw Cole crying and mom trying to comfort him, but I don't think that she was helping any, she asked him if he still wanted to go to space camp and he said yes, so we started down the road yet again and I fell asleep. Around twenty minutes later, Cole woke me up and told me to fix my hair and put my shoes back on because we were almost there. I noticed that he looked a lot happier than when we left the gas station, but I decided not to ask. 

The next ten minutes felt like they lasted for ten hours! But when we finally pulled into the space center, I was trying my hardest not to scream like a 13-year-old girl that has just been hugged by their favorite singer. Dad told us to start getting everything out of the car, so we did as we were told and when we got finished, a camp counselor came out of the building and came to meet us, but our parents were in the middle of giving us lots of hugs and lots of embarrassing kisses. They stopped after I said, "Mom, Dad someone is right here and I think that they need to talk to us." The counselor said, "Hello, my name is Sara I will be here throughout the entire camp! I am your counselor and I am ready to take you to your rooms now if you would like to say anything else to your parents you may at this time, but please make it quick because I have to help other campers as well." I didn't have anything to say other than goodbye so I said that to my parents and then Sara lead us into the building. All I could think was " she said rooms, not room, are we gonna be separated? What will I do if I am far from Cole and how will I be able to talk to him?" I finally decided to say something, " Miss Sara, did you say rooms like two separate rooms?" she responded, "Yes I did but all campers have a room to themselves and we have made sure that each set of siblings have rooms that are next door to each other so you will not be totally separated." I felt a lot better after she said that but I was still a bit nervous about this entire situation. I'm not sure as to why I am so nervous, I think that I'm mainly worried about accidentally telling Link about this, I really don't want to hurt his feelings. The first room that the counselor opened was my room, and it had a sign on the door that had my first and last name, along with my age. I went inside and put my bag on the bed then went to Cole's room, it was the exact same as mine except for the sign on the door, his sign had his first and last name and his age on it. Sara left and told us to start unpacking soon and we said ok and then she was gone. Cole looked very happy now, so I thought that it would be ok for me to ask him about what happened earlier today, I thought wrong, but he still told me. " Madeline broke up with me today, that means that she doesn't love me anymore, and I was upset about that. She broke up with me because she saw me hugging Lilly the other day after her dog died, I was only trying to cheer her up." he started crying and I said, " It's gonna be ok and I'm sorry about this, but I thought that she knew that Lilly is our cousin and that they were best friends, kinda like me and Link." "They were best friends, and she knew that Lilly is my cousin, I don't know why she is so mad at me for this. After all of this, Madeline won't go anywhere near Lilly and Lilly is upset too, but it's ok I probably don't need a girlfriend right now anyways," said Cole. I was glad that I cheered him up and I told him that I was going to unpack my bag and I left his room and started unpacking.
