Space camp A Rhett and Link fanfic

First day fun

The first thing that I pulled out of my bag was that picture of me and Link. The picture made me think about how much I miss him, but I didn't dwell on that thought for long. I had just finished putting away my clothes and shoes, about to start unpacking the bathroom things, when an announcement came over the intercom. It was a loud but friendly sounding voice that made the announcement, he said, "Welcome to space camp everyone, it is time for our first day at the camp meeting, please head to the lunch room and take a seat. We need everyone to be there, so please stop what you are doing and come to the lunch room. After the meeting, you will have lunch and then you can go back to your rooms to finish unpacking." I walked out of my door and waited on Cole to come out of his room so that we could walk together. We didn't get lost, surprisingly, but we were pretty far from the lunch room so the people on our hall were some of the last people to get to the lunch room. We went in and found two empty seats that were side by side surprisingly and we took them before anyone else could. About three minutes later, every seat earlier lunch and the man who made the earliest announcement got the microphone and stood on a table. "Wwwwwweeeeeelllllllccccccooooooommmmmeeeeeee to SPACE CAMP! I hope that everyone is having a great time so far. If you notice that you have left anything at home, make sure to tell one of the camp workers banana and they will get it for you."I zoned out after this and I have no clue as to what was said but I heard the word "food" and I started paying attention again. They said that we would be getting food in about two minutes. Sure enough in about two minutes, they started serving lunch, it was turkey and cheese sandwiches with dried banana chips and a water bottle. After I finished eating that they said that we would also be getting dessert. The dessert was space ice cream, I had peanut butter flavored ice cream that made me think about Link because he loves ice cream and peanut butter, I really miss him. After everyone had thrown away all of their trash and went back to their seats, the man got the microphone and said, "I hope that everyone enjoyed their meal, but now it is time to go back to your rooms to finish unpacking. We do have one phone on each hall, so if you would like to call family or friends to tell them how much fun you are having, feel free but do not use the phone for more than twenty minutes per day. You are dismissed."

I got up and followed Cole back to our rooms, he was finished unpacking so he came into my room just to hang out and help me finish up. "Do you want to use that phone to call mom and dad?" he asked, " Or are you gonna write stuff for mom and dad and then use the phone to call Link?" "I think that I will call Link today and tomorrow I will call dad then the next day I will call mom, kinda like a cycle. That way I will get to talk to everyone. Who all are you gonna call?" I asked. He mumbled something like mom and dad and maybe Laurel to see if she's ok. As soon as I put my suitcase in my closet, Cole got up and said, "Let's go call our people." I followed right behind him and he said that I could call Link first. When we got to the phone, no one was there we were shocked but it was good because people wouldn't be interrupting us. I called Link and he said that his cousin Larnald was acting crazy and doing all kinds of experiments with my cousin Rusty, they do that kind of stuff all the time. Then he asked me if I was having fun on my trip and I told him that I was but it would be more fun if he was there. Then his aunt Lynda told him that he had to get off the phone now because the government could be spying on them and that she had to go to work (she sorts mail) and he hung up without even saying bye. Then I put the phone back on the stand and got Cole's attention to tell him that it was his turn. He went to the phone and called mom and told her all about the camp and how much fun it was and then he handed me the phone and said that mom wanted to talk to me. "Hello" "Hi Rhett, I heard that you are having fun, but I wanted to ask you if you have told Link that you are at space camp, I didn't think that you have but I wanted to make sure before I told his parents about it, I don't want yall to fight over this." "I haven't told him and please don't say anything about it," I said. "Alright well I have to go I will talk to you tomorrow I love yall," mom said. " We love you too bye." We hung up and went back to our rooms, I think that Cole took a nap and I drew some pictures and started writing a journal so that when I decide to tell Link, I won't forget anything. Then I put away all of my papers and pencils and laid down to take a power nap because a power nap gives me power! My power nap was more like a two-hour nap, I really need to remember to set an alarm before I take a power nap. I decided to pull out my walkman tape player and listen to some music by Rabbit Lightning, they are my favorite country duo.Just as I was about to start listening to the Mandy brothers, Randy and Dandy Mandy's tape on how to make friends, not like a dork, the intercom turned on and they said that it was time for dinner and that we needed to go to the lunch room for dinner. I put my stuff up and went to the lunch room with Cole and we sat together and ate silently. After dinner, they said that we would have about an hour more of free time before lights out and at lights out, the doors to our rooms will be locked.
