I'll try to be on more often tho. Um, OK, I need some advise.
I'm trying to write my own YA novel about a group of people trying to survive while the military has been overrun in Canada and the US.
Big cities were bombed and smaller ones attacked. So there are four main characters. Two are based on my own friends and I don't know how old to make them. One of the main characters is a seventeen year old solider named Thalia, one is a child living in a reserve camp (to train him as a solider when he's older) named Kevin (he's seven), and then there's Annika, a girl who is being brainwashed and trained, and Landen, someone trying to escape to Mexico with his allies.
I don't know how old to make Annika and Landen so if I could get some input. In the book they both have kids. Annika has a stepson whose 12 and a daughter whose 7. Landen has a son that's 11.
I want to make them either early twenties (meaning Landen's kid is born while he's a teen), or mid thirties.
