The track back down the hill wasn't as bad as it was going up the hill, thankfully. The forest was quite peaceful at this time, the sun cascading into the trees, its leaves creating fun patterns on the bright green grass. A small sigh left my lips, "Today sure was odd. It was fun sure, but Nagisa's 'excuse' isn't sitting well with me. What's going on?"

"If you don't focus on the trail, you're gonna trip over another root," Karma's coy voice startled me. I give him a playful smack on the shoulder, a smile growing on my face. His small comment forced a memory I would've liked to forget during training to surface. I rub my nose self consciously at that.

We talk for a small while, all the way to the subway station. It was nice getting to know Karma a bit more, he didn't seem to open up to very many people. At least, actually have conversations like this with most of his classmates. "Hey Karma?" He turned towards me, "Why are we training with knives? Why do we have a giant, yellow octopus as our teacher? Why did we try to shoot him during roll call? Why is he so fast?" I pour my whole mind out to him, my curiosity getting the best of me. He stared at me, shocked. I wasn't surprised. After having a good long conversation with him, who wouldn't be shocked when someone suddenly interrogates you.

He chuckled, "Right, you weren't told of our..situation." I eyed him suspiciously, once again confused. I explain to him what Nagisa had told me earlier. His face still wore that obnoxious smirk. "Nagisa was never good at truly hiding his goals," he placed his hands on my shoulders and turned me towards him, "[Y/N], there are some things the public audience shouldn't know about." His eyes glanced up to the sky, I followed them. The moon. I looked back at him. He gave me a smile, it wasn't his usually cocky one. It was a genuine smile. I returned the gesture.

He came closer, "We all have a mission, if that's what you want to call it. There's a big prize out of it too," he sang. My curiosity grew more and more by the second. He opened his mouth about to speak.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?!"

Karma was violently pushed away from me, we both stumbled around due to his grip on my shoulders. I, luckily, was safely caught and was pulled tightly into someone's chest. Karma, on the other hand, was sprawled out on the ground, looking up with a confused look at his attacker. I followed his gaze.

"Wendy?!" I gawk at my sister. If looks could kill, me and Karma would surely be dead. I let out a loud groan and pushed her off of me, "Wendy, this is my friend Karma. Karma, this is my lovely sister Wendy," I seethe through gritted teeth. Wendy immediately realized her mistake and aided Karma while apologizing like there's no tomorrow.

We all eventually calmed down, well me and Karma at least, and Wendy invited Karma over to eat with us as another apology. After countless attempts to persuade Wendy he was just fine, Karma gave in and followed us home. Wendy continuously talked to Karma and I, mostly about school and how we met. She was very happy I had been able to make friends on the first day of school.

"Here we are!" She beamed and opened the door. Warm air hit us immediately, making me melt compared to the chilliness of outside. I glanced at Karma and saw he felt the same. We all walked in, "You and Karma can go spend time in the living room while I make lunch," Wendy said.

"Do you need any help?" Karma asked to which Wendy denied and insisted we go sit down. We listened and walked towards the room. A hand grabbed my shoulder and pulled me back. I looked towards my sister unamused.

"If he tries anything, remember our safe word," She whispered.

"Jelly Bean," I said, unamused. Wendy smiled at me and I couldn't help but smile back. She let me go and I met up with Karma.

We both sat down at the table, sitting across from each other. "So, how long have you been in 3-E?" I asked.

"This is my first time there. I was transferred there because the school deemed me a 'danger to the gifted students'," he said, "It was a load of sh-."

The door slid open and my sister popped in, "Food's ready!" We got all of the food situated on the table and dug in. Wendy and Karma continued to talk, allowing her to get to know him more. Karma didn't have this sadistic presence around his whenever he spoke with Wendy. Every other adult, from what I've seen, is a different story. I faintly remember hearing about him, people talked about what he did to a third year student. It was definitely brutal.

"So, how's the campus? Did you like your new teacher?" Wendy turned to me and asked. I felt hesitant. What do I tell her? That my teacher is a giant, yellow octopus and for P.E. instead of running we trained with knives?

I subconsciously let out a nervous chuckle, "It was nice, my teacher sure is interesting." It's not the best answer, but knowing her she'll accept it.

"Oh really? Tell me more! I've always been so curious about the old campus," Wendy beamed.

'Just my luck, damn it'

"Oh, he's very interesting alright. He's a great teach, but man that guy likes to speed through the day quick," Karma pipped up. I gave him a dead look, mentally strangling him. His usual smirk and coy attitude showing once again. I glanced over at Wendy and realized her interest keeps rising the more words come out of the red head's mouth.

I stood up quickly, "Oh, would you look at the time! It's awfully late and we wouldn't want your parents to worry about you," I grabbed Karma by the shoulders, giving them a warning squeeze to which he caught onto. Wendy looked over at the time and agreed, going back to her never ending apologies about keeping him for so long.

"My, I never realized just how fast time goes by. Here Karma, I can drive you over to the subway station so you don't have to walk so far," Wendy stood up, "You two wait here while I go get the car, okay?" We both nodded towards her and she left.

'Now's my chance!'

I sat down next to Karma. I never realized just how short I am compared to him. I'm slightly taller than Kayano, sure, but compared to everyone else? I am a human dwarf in the eyes of this guy. "Karma," I finally spoke, "What were you going to tell me at the subway station? You never really answered my question." I asked. All he gave me was his smile. That dumb smile. He's lucky he can get away with a lot using that smile.

"Like I said, we have a mission. No one else really knows about it. I'm genuinely surprised they didn't tell you anything." He answered. "[Y/N], our mission isn't for the faint of heart. I'm not sure if someone like you can even handle it," he taunted. Gosh, that stupid smirk gracing his features.

I felt the heat rising in my face. I was flustered; I was so tired of being left in the dark.My curiosity was at its highest pique. I wanted to know. So badly. "Just tell me! Be straightforward!" I looked down, immediately feeling embarrassed for raising my voice and letting my emotions get the best of me.

He stared at me. I could feel his gaze observing me. I strangely felt pitiful. I didn't like it. "Our mission is our teacher," he said suddenly.

"What?"

I met his gaze. He stared at me, his amber eyes glowing in a strange and ominous way. "E class has many names, as you know. One of the many is very special to us all. We got it because of the special mission."

Karma's smile returned, growing more and more sadistic with every passing second. "Our mission is to end our dear teacher's life by graduation." I stared at him, not sure what to say.

"So, Class 3-E? End Class has to kill that...alien?" I laughed at his statement.

"I wouldn't call us End Class anymore. We personally prefer being called something else," he leaned closer, I could faintly feel his breathing on my nose. I never realized just how close he got to me, we were mere inches apart. My body couldn't help, but rush blood towards my already pink cheeks.

"A-And what is that?" Curse my stutter.
