I APOLOGIZE I KNOW I SUCK IM SORRY BUT I HOPE YOU LIKE IT

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A few weeks ago I’d entered a contest to do a couple of songs at some show that was coming into town. I was supposed to be getting the response today, and to be honest I was completely frightened. I was almost sure that I wasn’t going to be picked for it but I could only hope for the best. The anxiety was getting to me quite honestly I haven’t been this nervous since my first grade talent show rendition of Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star.

The cold morning air left a lust lingering around the stories that conformed my house. Not even the 5 blankets wrapping my body were stopping the shivers that ran down my spine once my phone screen lit up signaling a new email had arrived in my inbox. This was it; it was the moment I had been patiently waiting for. Probably the make it or break it moment of my entire winter break. I’d been left home alone so at least if I didn’t book the show then my parents wouldn’t be there when I got the news. Hesitantly I reached for my phone with a shaky hand. Carefully typing my passcode in, I searched for my email icon.

New email from info@magcontour.com

 I tapped on the notification.

 “Dear miss O’Connor,

It has come to my attention that you entered our contest for the local show we’re doing in Toronto on the second weekend of January. Although thousands of teenagers applied, as you know, we could only pick one, someone who we believe will have the charisma to interact with not only our expectators, but the rest of our staff and the other members making up the show.

With that being said, congratulations! You have been the one we’ve chosen! So pack some bags and attached you will find the staff tickets into the venue and the reservation for your hotel for the weekend. We look forward to seeing you there!

MAGCON Tour coordinator.”

My phone dropped onto the floor. They had picked me. Me. Plain old Kailee O’Connor out of so many applicants I’d been the lucky one. HOW?. I couldn’t believe it. My first instinct was to pick my phone back up and dial my first number on speed dial.

“It’s 9 am. I was sleeping. This better be good” Erin whined.

 “GUESS WHO’S GOING TO MAGON”

 “Who??” wow so much excitement?

 “YOURS TRULY”

“Ariana Grande?” she asked. What even?

“What? What did you hit your head against this time”

“NOTHING! I tried making a joke don’t judge I’m still asleep”

 “I can see that”

“WAIT HOLD ON DID YOU SAY YOU’RE GOING TO MAGCON?”
