It's so easy to take things for granted. A lot of people are born into loving families, and have homes, and food on their plates, and a bed to sleep in. But not a care in the world. These are common things that we don't even realize we are extremely privileged to have. We don't ever think about how our lives would be different if suddenly one day everything ended, or if one day you got a disease that could potentially completely change your life. For a young man named Jordan, his life was never going to be the same after today. Jordan was only 17 when he was diagnosed with lung cancer. A severe form of cancer that was said to give him only a year more to live.

It was a snowy night in December, when Jordan had started to cough heavily in his sleep. This wasn't a new occurrence though, Jordan had recently been having heavy coughs in his sleep, often resulting with him rushing to the bathroom to throw up blood. He jumped out of his sleep with his hand on his pounding heart, less shocked than the day before. He ran toward the bathroom but fell to the floor half-way there, gasping for air.

"D-dad" he barely pushed out the words loud enough for his father to hear his cries for help. Jordans father had heard the fall and his cry and quickly rushed out into the hall to see his son on the floor. "C'mon c'mon " he said helpingly as he grabbed his arms an attempted to get him toward his bed. He fell over again unable to stand up again. His father quickly grabbed his phone and dialed 911. All Jordan saw was his fathers lips moving fast but the sounds all faded. His eye lids slowly shut easily and he was unable to contest his body shutting down.
This was when his life was never going to be the same.
This is when the change began.
