*KACEY'S POV*
"Would you like a cuppa, darling?" Maura asked
"Oh yes please, I'd love one" I smiled back gratefully.
Niall led me into the living room where 2 men were sitting.
Niall hugged them both as they patted him on the back.
"Guys, this is my girlfriend Kacey. Kacey, this is my step dad and my brother" Niall introduced
"Nice to meet you both" I said, hugging them as they kissed one side of my cheek.
"Mum, when is dad gonna be here?" Niall asked Maura
"He should be finished work in about an hour love" She replied as she handed us both a cup of tea.
I took it gratefully and sipped it, letting the hot substance trickle down my throat. I sighed in satisfaction. I cupped my hands around the mug to warm them up.
I looked at the clock to see it was about 7pm.
"You make the best tea, Maura" I told her
She grinned back, happy I had made a comment, "Thank you sweetie"
This family seems perfect. Everyone getting along. This seemed like such a happy family.
I used to have one of those, before both my parents died when I was younger. I miss them a lot and I haven't ever been part of another family since then. Maybe this is a start.
I may die in 11 months but at least I get to spend them with Niall and hopefully his family included.
It feels great to know you have someone again. Someone to care for you and Niall certainly does that. He always cares for me. I just hope nothing goes wrong and I get to spend my last dying days with him.
I just wish I could grow old with him. He is the one person I can truly trust. I want to get married and have children, but sadly that most likely will never happen.
I sat down next to the burning fire and looked around at everyone chatting and laughing. I feel good for once. Happy again. I never thought I would be happy again, I just need to thank Make-A-Wish or I would never have met the love of my life.
I am now becoming part of a new family.
