Feline Caretaker || Niam

{09. October}

Some time has passed since Liam and Niall started to date, and their connection has grown deeper. It's been a whole month since that day. It's now October, which means Halloween.

Halloween is a favorite of Liam's, although, not Niall's. He hates scary things: the jump scares, the demons and ghosts, the costumes, just everything about it.

He's had very bad experiences with the holiday each year, so he doesn't want to experience another. Niall wants to stay in his home with Liam and watch some cute movies while eating candy. That's all he wants out of that day.

Today is the 18th though, so he still has 13 days to live through another Halloween day. Hopefully it'll be a good one this time. He didn't have Liam by his side all of the other times, so maybe it'll be better this time, when it comes.

"Lili..." Niall whines softly, running his fingernails gently across Liam's bare, strong arm.

Liam looks down at him with a raised brow. He wants to know what's wrong, of course. "What's up, little one," he asks before planting a soft kiss to Niall's cheek.

Niall smiles from the affectionate peck but continues to frown. "Niall doesn't really like h-halloween. So h-he was wondering if Liam c-could make this next one better."

Liam smiles big. How can Niall get anymore adorable? "Of course, love, don't worry about it. I wouldn't want you to have a bad Halloween. We can do whatever you like, with some things that I enjoy."

Niall nods and grins. "Thank you, LiLi. So so m-much."

Liam smiles bigger and pecks his hybrid's lips, making Niall blush hard, and he pecks those plump lips back. Their feelings for each other are so strong.

Ever since the first date that they had together, their bond has tightened immensely. Liam was such a sweetheart as Niall was the shy, adorable one who would ask for things politely.

Polite or not, Liam would still assist him because of his beauty and charisma. Hell, everything about the hybrid is beautiful. Liam couldn't be luckier to have picked him as his hybrid to take care of and to fall for.

"It's no problem at all, really. Let's not worry about that yet though, as we have plenty of days beforehand. Thirteen to be exact."

Niall nods and snuggles even closer into his owner's side, licking his lips slowly while Liam rubs his back.

Niall is mostly nervous for Halloween to come. He has many reasons to be, but he doesn't want to be a wimp in front of his lover. He's afraid to get made fun of. It happened a lot during the past Halloween days. That's why Niall gets scared, though. He gets picked on because of him being a hybrid.

Most people know about the species, not everyone. When one of the people who don't know about Niall's species try to take off his fake ears or tail, it hurts him. They don't know, but it hurts.

He wants everyone to know about him and the others who are like him. He's tired and done being messed with just because people think that he is always wearing a costume. It is a valid reason, in his case. He wants this year to be better, for his own sake and Liam's.

"Yes, I know," Niall responds, tracing Liam's bare torso.

Liam licks his lips now. Those soft, gentle touches drive him insane, but he, somehow, contains himself.

Although, Niall has grown to be more of a tease and more touching. Liam has grown into himself, trying not to focus on touching Niall too much.

He was too touchy with his last boyfriend, so that didn't last very long. Plus, he doesn't want to scare the hybrid away from him. They seem to be more jumpy, or concerned with any amount of touching. Even though Niall has gotten used to Liam's touches, he still jumps from time to time as he has fast reflexes.

It's a good thing that he's part cat, or else there'd be a lot more trouble in his life. He loves that he can see and hear better, making him feel safer with his surroundings.

"Good," is all that Liam says before planting a quick kiss to Niall's lips. He blushes and kisses Liam's nose afterward, loving this moment. They're always so sweet with each other.

"Good," Niall repeats, smiling cheekily as Liam leans his forehead against Niall's.

Liam can't get enough of him, he never will. Niall will never bore him or annoy him, not like one of his past boyfriends, at least.

He has his moments where he can be a little too much, but Liam finds it adorable on Niall. Liam loves how he is so expressive and meaningful to his own actions. It's surprising, a good surprising.

"How about I start getting you in the Halloween spirit? It is less than two weeks away, and I want you to enjoy it as much as I do. I enjoy it a lot."

Niall giggles softly, but his smile fades in seconds. "Niall would l-like that, but he's scared. Niall don't like Halloween that much b-because lots of people would be m-mean to him, pull a-at his ears. It hurts a lot." He start pouting now while Liam gets upset quickly, not with Niall of course. How could people be so cruel?

"Oh, I'm so sorry, little one. Some people in this world are just so terrible and ignorant, don't worry about them. Worry about the people that matter, including yourself."

Niall smiles gently again. He nods and snuggles back up into his owner's side, letting out a soft sigh. Liam always knows how to bring back that much needed comfort and smile.

Niall can't help but kiss him with passion, though. He deserves this now, he deserves to be happy after all this time, with Liam.

"Thank you for deciding to be Niall's c-caretaker, LiLi. Everything you've done for Niall h-has been so great and p-perfect. You treat Niall like a p-princess, even if he may not deserve it. You are truly amazing, L-Lili."

Liam blushes hard and he cannot help but bring his little one into a tight hug but not too tight of a hug. Niall hugs him back, tears brewing in his eyes as he buries his face in Liam's neck. He's his savior, his knight in shining armor, to be cliché.

Once the hug ends, Niall pulls away and looks right into Liam's eyes. Their breaths are slow yet shaky, their hearts are beating roughly against their chests and their feelings are growing stronger, much stronger.

In seconds, they start to smile. Liam's arms wrap around the hybrid's, pulling him closer before planting a kiss to his head.

Niall cannot stop smiling now because he feels so much more safe and loved. Liam is making him feel this way. This is what he wanted, and now he has it, for good.

He wasn't sure if Liam really liked him at first, but this proves it. His words, his actions, everything. Liam has shown proof that he really likes Niall and that he really cares about him. He wanted that.

"You gave Niall what h-he wanted, Li," Niall speaks softly, looking into Liam's eyes again.

"What did I give you, my little love," Liam asks in response, smiling from ear to ear.

Niall sighs happily and runs his fingers through the brown locks of Liam Payne.

"You gave Niall a h-home..."
