The Night Talk

Everyone had gone to rest in their cabins, all the lights shutting off. Jana sighed, her attack readied mind keeping her awake. She sighed, knowing she wasn't the only one. She looked through her cabin window, seeing a small light through Adrien's window. She smiled softly. She slowly got out of her bed, opening her door, and opening his cabins door softly. She saw Marinette and Alya sleeping peacefully, and Nino hanging off his bed, drooling. She looked up and saw Adrien lying down, scrolling through his phone. She pounced onto his bed.
" Hey cuz! " she said softly. He didn't look away from his phone, but smiled.
" Hi. " Adrien said. Jana smiled.
   " What are you doing up? " she asked her cousin, who gave her a deadpan look.
   " What are you doing up? " he asked smugly. They both laughed quietly.
   " Where's Plagg? " Jana asked, looking around.
   " Sleeping in my bag. Surrounded by his precious Camembert. " Adrien mumbled. Jana sniffed, smelling the rancid cheese from across the room.
   " I can smell it. " she said. Adrien cringed, rubbing his nose.
   " Mhm. " he mumbled, looking down. Jana looked at him, and could practically see the drooping cat ears and tail, and sighed.
   " Alright, what's wrong? " she asked. He shrugged.
   " It's just...getting closer to the anniversary of her disappearance. Jana, what if my father doesn't care? " Adrien said. Jana's eyes softened.
   " Well, she was his wife. I could see how he wouldn't care. But he's...not the man he used to be. " Jana mumbled. She looked at his worrying eyes, and stumbled.
    " A-anyways, he's your dad! He may surprise you! " Jana said, smiling gingerly. Adrien smiled, punching her lightly on the shoulder.
    " Thanks! " he said. Jana nodded, jumping down from his bed without a sound, landing on her hands and feet. Adrien lied down tiredly, cuddling up his pillow.
    " Thanks... " he mumbled, before snuggling into his blankets, a soft purr starting in his chest. As Jana settled into bed, she sighed.
   " I hope everything turns out well cuz... " she said, snuggling her pillows, a soft purr starting in her chest. And the night was quiet, except for the purring of two cats...
