paper wings

9:14 pm

my paper wings spread,
as you no longer laid on the bed.
i knew you would leave me,
there was no use.
but sadly, i had lost the noose.

my paper wings ripped
and my heart was torn and stripped.
everything was falling apart,
god, my poor heart.

my paper wings broke
just as you spoke.
your voice destroyed me,
i mean - couldn't you see?

my paper wings disappeared
and it was my own face i feared.

my papers wings grew from love
and it was the love that faded,
as did my once beautiful wings
before the hurt that everything brings.
