(CARTER POV)
I was exited. I finally got to go to a real school. Growing up, I never got the luxury to stay in one place and make good friends and go to a basketball game for my school. My dad was an Egyptologist, so we traveled the world together. He home schooled me. My sister Sadie got to stay with our grandparents in England, and was able to make life long friends and didn't have to worry about if you could catch your flight, or if you can get a hotel room.
When I tell other kids that I travel the world, they're like, 'wow! I wish i could go there!' the thing is, we don't fly first class. Really, we just find a place with beds and bathrooms. we've slept in some really NASTY places.
But that was then. Things have changed.
Sadie and I are magicians. I don't mean magic hat and trick cards magicians. I mean blast you with fire and turn you into lizards magicians. Both have happened to me, and it's not nice. but anyways, we get to go to school this year. this is a big deal, because normally Sadie and I are normally training other recruits to be hosts of Egyptian gods, but we got the option to take a break, and we took it.
school was starting in the morning, so i decided to go to bed early.
Bad idea.

Percy: just shut up and leave.

Me: And..
Percy: *grumbling* And she's awesome.
