Chapter 5

 Morning came as the bright sun woke her up. Noticing that she wasn't in her bedroom and in another this morning. getting up from the bed she walked around the spacious bedroom. It had a big bed off to the right and a big balcony that opened up. A walk-in closet and a big spacious bathroom. The theme was somewhat chic but clean. She liked it, the bed was comfy though. Max opened the door as she began questioning what was so important about the jewelry she was wearing.

Max," I hope you like the room, I designed it as comfy as it could get ." 

Max was leaning in front of the door frame referring to Annabeth's room.

Anna, "I love it and it is very spacious by the way. I slept the best in a long time last night. I appreciate all you have done for me."

she said with happiness yet sadly as she stared at the floor as an awkward silence enveloped them when Max  broke the silence saying, 

Max, "I know... It's going to be hard adjusting  but there might even be a day where this might not be safe enough, and I want to make sure that you will be prepared for that day." 

Max looked down at Annabeth waiting for an answer. 

Anna," oh"  she looked at Max.

It was the sad truth and Annabeth knew that with wanting peace theirs always an obstacle in the way.

Anna, "I'm glad your here with me, at least I'm not alone in this at all."  she smiled slightly.

Max," I know this is going to come off shockingly but as in two days, I want you to begin training with Ray as well as with me if I'm not busy.  I couldn't think of a helpless situation in which you couldn't be able to defend yourself. We are going to teach you how to protect yourself. I know it's come all of a sudden with your birthday and all but I want you to be safe and you need to learn how to protect yourself in case of any emergency. Ray and I were discussing this while Mary gave you your gift last night." 

Max looked worried at Annabeth but he knew it had to be said and done.

Anna was surprised but realized it was necessary regarding what happened earlier in her room back on earth as she may say. Especially when the day started out a mess the minute your mother left the house. On a good note, Anna ruffled Max's hair saying,

  Anna," I understand ...and I can't wait to beat your ass!" 

Max reassuring her, 

Max, "Hold your horses, missy! Go get ready for the day. You look good by the way." Max winked as he walked away

Anna," Ok Mister, See you in a bit then " 

  Annabeth remembered more of last night's events as she made her way towards the big bathroom to least brush her teeth and take a well-needed shower.  Walking up to the bathroom mirror she noticed her eyes were not as hazel anymore they were more green than hazel, she also noticed her hair was a lighter shade. It wasn't dark brown anymore it was light brown.  Shocked as she stared at the girl in the mirror. She didn't feel like Annabeth anymore, she felt as if she was in another person's body. Wanting some answers, she quickly brushed her teeth and took a shower. Quickly went into her bag and changed into a pair of sweat pants and a comfy blue shirt with sneakers as she tied her hair into a ponytail. She didn't feel as if she had to be extra with her appearance today. Springing out of her room, she decided to stop by Max's room. 

Maybe then he would know how to fix whatever was happening. Exiting her room she made a beeline towards Max's room. Once there, she knocked on the door twice and on the second knock, Max opened the door wearing nothing but navy blue sweat pants. Anna just stood there like a statue staring at his abs shocked. She knew he exercised a lot but damn.

Max, "Are you going to stand there and keep gawking, or are you going to come in?"  

Now embarrassed Annabeth looked up at Max blushing and frowning.

Anna, "Good Morning to you too?!!" 

 walking into Max's room he closed the door behind them. 

Turning around facing Max, 

 Anna, "Notice anything different about my appearance?!" 

Max," Hmm, well... your hair changed color and so did your eyes your skin looks a little more tan. You look beautiful Anna!! I haven't seen anything like it, Most of the time people turn a darker shade of color in their hair and eyes but nothing like this?!"

Anna, "What?!  What are you talking about? It's like I'm not me! I'm someone else! What's going on Max?".....
