Fionna's POV~~
"Thanks PG. It feels as if it was never bitten off!" I beam with enthusiasm. Gumball had finally been able to develop a regenerating serum for the only human alive. It took longer than he expected, but nevertheless my arm is as good as new.
"Anything for my favorite adventuress." He said with a dazzling smile. For some reason, my face heated up at that gesture.
I hopped off the counter where he injected the serum in my arm, and walked over to the open window. Marshall said he would come pick me up soon so we can head over to the fire kingdom to mess with fire wolves. Not usually my style, since the flame king is my ex and all... but whatever floats Marshalls boat.
"Fionna? What are you looking for?" I hear Gumballs prim voice say.
"I'm just waiting for Marsh to pick me up so we can go adventuring." I reply while looking out the window. The cool breeze felt good on my face. Like Cakes fluffy tail softly swatting me in the face. Speaking of cake...
"Hey Gumball. Have you heard from Cake lately? I visited her 2 days ago at Monos to see how the kids were doing, but she hasn't called since."
Gumball looked down in thought. His eyes lit up with remembrance. "Ah! She didn't tell you?" He asked me with confusion clouding his face.
I furrowed my eyebrows. "Tell me what?"
His posture went rigid, looking uncomfortable.
"You're sister... she moved in with Monochromicorn."
My stomach dropped.
A million thoughts flashed through my mind; Cake being happy with her family and kids having her loving husband cook her breakfast every morning, while I'm home alone with no one to make me breakfast or make me laugh or smile. I'm gonna be alone. Alone.
Alone.
"Woah, Fionna are you alright? She must've forgotten to tell you. I can sure you, she never meant any harm. Cake told me that she would visit you every weekend or so."
Another punch to the stomach.
My own sister wasn't going to see me everyday. I wasn't gonna see her every day.
"I- I need some air." I mumbled as I pushed past Gumball and into the candy kingdom hallways. Suddenly, I couldn't remember which way was out. All I could think of was being alone and forgotten.
Like how I was found.
I didn't notice I was crying until my vision blurred with tears and my chest started to heave. With a heavy heart, I plunged myself towards the main door of he candy kingdom and started sprinting to my home.
The home I was going to live in by myself for a very long time.
Marshalls POV~~
Ever since I got back from the Nightosphere a million thoughts have been running through my head. I had to go home and lay in bed to sort through all of them- besides, Fiona's life depends on it.
As I lay on my silk covered cloud of happiness, my eyes start to flutter reminding me that I haven't had any sleep for the last 3 days. Mostly due to traveling, and stress. It was nighttime though, so it didn't seem right for me to be tired.
