-Cassie!

I turned to the voice of Andy , my best friend, the coolest readhead in the entire galaxy. Her round face was now smiling, the warm smile I always liked. Her fiery hair was up in a messy bun, and her tan skin was gracefully covered with a white, plain tank top, and turquoise blue shorts. She wore black eyeliner, which made her dark, almond-shaped brown eyes stand out.

I always thought she was pretty, but she didn't think so.

Me, on the other hand, was completely different. She was like fire, happy, energetic, and she only spoke sarcasm. I was like ice, quiet, reserved, and not very sociable. And, talking about physical appearance, suit me really well, I had black hair and eyes, and my skin was like snow. Andy said that, when i wasn't happy (and happy for me meant not being grumpy), I gave the creep, because I had a very 'cold' expression. She always looked happy, but don't mess with her. Never. That's just a dumb move. She can seem the best person, the most loving and caring, always happy, but she was a nightmare dressed like a daydream.

-Guess what?

-What?

She always liked to make the little things look very special, and it was really funny. That's one of the reasons you like her so much. Yhea.

-Remember Rabastan White, that boy that came to social sciences with us last year?

-Rabastan? Ye ol' Rabstan? Of course!

-We are dating now!

Another reason to love her. She was beaming, and her eyes shone with happiness. That made me smile. Yhea, smile. The way she made everything look special.

-Congratulations! Since when?

-Yesterday! We were in the hall, and he... I... We were talking, and he told me to go on a date! My very first DATE, Ellie! I mean, isn't it amazing? Of course it is, what a question! And, uhm, do you wanna come over later to study? I really can't get geography in my head.

-Wow, your skills in changing the subject amaze me, Andy. I can go at five or so. Is that ok?

-Yhea! I think Rabastan is coming over, too. Do you mind?

-Nah, don't worry, it'll be okay to meet him again. Ye ol' Rabastan, I had almost forgotten him. What a great time it was.

Home was so fine, cozy and boring. As always. I often thought that Andromeda Dangerfield, the most dangerous woman in this world, had the best family in the entire world. I mean, come on. Her mother, Isla Kratos-Dangerfield, was greek, so they travelled a lot, mainly to Greece. Her father, Augustus Dangerfield, was a scientist, a crazy one, and he was so funny! She had a brother, Will, who was currently studying engineering, and he showed us all his new inventions.

I've always wanted to have a family like hers. My mother wasn't a mother, she always mistreated me, as if I was a piece of trash, and my father hated me, the both of them really gave me hell all the time. But, they were working from early in the morning to late night, and sometimes, they spent days without coming home. But I had Andy, she was like a sister to me, and her family had welcomed me as one more, as another daughter, and I've always been thankful for that.

I looked at the clock in my room, 4pm. Great. Another hour. I didn't have any homework from high school, and that was just great, because it meant that I could be bored another great hour. I looked at my bookshelf.

-Oh, c'mon! Is that a joke?- I cried.

It was all empty, and I remembered. My father had put them in a bag, and then, he told me that he had donated them to the local library. Nice. With nothing to do, I decided that I would take a nap, and I layed in my bed, closed my eyes, and waited.
