There were many promises he made. I made a lot myself. I broke a few, too. But never did I ever expect Abel to break all of the promises he made.
I didn't expect him to break me.
For the first three months of his departure, he called every single day. Sent me pictures through Facebook. He even sent a package full of things from Japan. But suddenly, it stopped. He cut contact with me slowly but surely. Money stopped coming in, and he basically forgot about me more and more as he rose to fame...

"Are you sure he isn't there at all?" I asked Lamar, who was on the other side of the line. I don't get why Abel couldn't answer himself or why his best friend had his phone and felt the need to answer. I tried to be understanding about the situation but it's been two weeks since I last talked to the father of my future children.
I heard a sigh. "He's busy. With Drake. I'm sorry, ma, but I needa hang up. I'll tell him to hit you up later, yeah?" I opened my mouth to speak, but I shut it once I heard a beeping noise that indicated that he was gone. Perhaps unreachable again.
"It's okay, babies. We can talk to daddy later." I rubbed my belly softly, cooing as a small imprint of a foot appeared. I like to think that my twins could hear me, but I'd rather have them hear their father instead. "Just one more month." I whispered, more to myself than anything. I needed reassurance from someone, but I didn't have much friends except for Abel's friends, and they're all on tour with him. Where could he be?
Gripping my cellphone, I patiently waited for Abel to send me a picture of the cherry blossoms in Japan.
It never came.
