it was a crisp morning, dew in the grass, the sun rising over the horizon, the pleasant sound of  birds singing, and the unique smell of freshly cut grass that filled the air. it was intoxicating. phil watched as the small clouds drifted slowly with the wind.
phil felt like a cloud in that moment. like he disconnected from his body and was drifting off into the morning sky. it was a special kind of high that he just couldn't explain in words.

phil was brought back to reality when he heard the loud engine of the school bus. he let out a small but audible groan as the bus came to a stop before him.
phil walked on the giant hell machine with a pair of semi baggy overalls with mitch-matched socks (as per usual) , doc martens, and a stripped shirt.
phil was definitely the cutest folk on the block.

he noticed someone new on the bus, they sat right across from him. he was in all black with his hood up and had his face in some phone game.
phil didn't pay him to much thought as his book about consolations was way more important.

it wasn't long after that, that phil was walking off the bus, and into the school doors.
he essentially did what he did everyday.
"yo! assmunch"
"yo! dickface!"
met up with his best friend louise.

louise was phils best friend. ever since they were 8.
"how's your boring book about stars?" louise joked pointing at the slightly worn, thick book, as they were walking to their lockers.

"it's actually really neat, I just grabbed it 'coz the cover looked cool." he chuckled to himself. phil knew the rule: you should never judge a book by its cover, yada, yada, yada. but how could you not! the cover had vibrant shades of blue and purple, with some constitutions. it drew phil in immediately.
"i had no idea how much i was into stars until now lawl." phil ranted to louise about his newly learned facts, gesticulations and all, nearly hitting a couple people.

"yeah okay whatever. i still have no idea how you're always so energized in the morning. you're like the fuckin' teletubbies sun." louise groaned.

"do i look like a baby to you?" phil gasped pretending to be offended.

"yeah. yeah, you actually do." she joked examining his face. she gave his cheek a quick squeeze before heading off into a different direction to her locker. "bye babycakes!" she shouted before she was officially lost in the crowd.

"babycakes your mom" phil chuckled at his own joke.

phil walked into his first period history class, which wasn't exactly his favorite. None of his close friends were in that class but phil was generally very good at chit-chat, and he had no problem striking conversation, so it wasn't that lonely.

"hey jamie" phil chirped as jamie plopped down at her desk. jamie is a short, nice girl with tanned skin and freckles all over her face, phil enjoyed chatting with her.

"yoyo," she replied, distracted, looking over her shoulder at the new kid walking in "have you seen the new kid, he's kinda cute!" she said looking back at me, then back at the new kid. "oo but he looks emo as hell." she said mostly to herself.

"true," phil laughed in agreement. "yeah, he's on my bus."

"good mornin' class, what's it do?" mr.green chanted as he open the door to the now quieting class, cutting phils little convo short. he walked to the front of the room, hands behind his back, grinning.

he paused for a second waiting for everyone to stop talking.
"hello mr.howell! care to introduce yourself?" howell looked up from the sudden spotlight and awkwardly waved in response, his face turning a bright shade of pink. Howell looked back down at his desk making it clear that he wasn't gonna go any further then that. mr.green waited a bit, for any follow up, but nothing. "okiee dokiee! anyways. take out your textbooks we're gonna briefly go over unit 7 just as a refresher because" he paused for dramatic effect, "we're doing a project! ill get into it in a bit." mr.green stated, earning a couple groans and sighs.

on the other hand, phil didn't mind projects- he thought it was better than book work any day. plus, mr.green let him work by himself, which he enjoyed, he could do things the way he wanted, at the pace he wanted, without the pressure of feeding to everyones needs.
during the review phil blanked out starring out the large window on the left of him, he looked at the birds, and the way the 3 newly grown trees swayed back and fourth with their tiny baby branches. baby trees were equivalent to a puppy in phil's eyes.

"so, back to the project," mr.green stated after a bit of reviewing that phil completely missed, phil averted his attention back "this is a group or partner activity," he gave phil a look, meaning that applies to him as well. why do i need a partner, all of these people already have groups, they're gonna get aggravated, i'm going to bug them. phils mind went on and on.

of course nobody would really think this way, in fact, they would likely be happy to have phil in their group. phils self-projects come out fantastic! guaranteed a+.

after the instruction mr.green walked over to phil.
"hey, i would like you to work with dan."
phil didn't know who mr.green was referring to at first, then he quickly put the pieces together. phil looked at the new kid. he gave phil an uneasy feeling in his stomach, phil raised his eyebrow as a queue of explanation.

"he needs a partner, and probably a friend. i'm not trying to force anything here but i think it would be nice," he put his hand on phils shoulder, standing up "oh and don't do all the the work  for him please, and thank you." before phil could question mr.green was gone.
