Preston's POV
"Guys, Vikk and I decided to go back to Australia for a while," Lachlan announced, holding Vikk closer to him.

"I mean, if you guys need help, we can come back," Vikk added.

Mitch scooted to Jerome, and a sense of jealousy welled up in me. Why can people be together safely, while I almost lost Rob? I decided to not answer Lachlan.

"Pres?" Jerome asked. Dammit. If I don't answer, they'll know I'm ignoring them. I pretended to be in shock, darting my eyes between the four.

"Oh... okay," I answered, not putting any energy to what I've said. Despite that, Lachlan still continued with his cheery mood, and told us that they would set off tomorrow morning.

Yeah, just leave. Do whatever you guys want.

They decided that it would be a wise decision to pack up today, since they haven't started packing yet, and left the hospital.

Leaving me with the two lovebirds that everyone ships while my husband is still in coma.

How wonderful.

Jerome must have sensed something wrong with me. Mitch, as usual, hid behind him like a kid.

"What happened to you, Preston? You weren't like that last time. You weren't so cold," Jerome asked. I snapped.

"Oh yeah? Try having Mitch in this bed instead of Rob! Won't you be cold when everyone have their own freaking husband with them while Rob's in freaking coma trying to fight his way out of hell? Oh yeah I'm just gonna be the old Preston and continue laughing my ass out like hell no I'm obviously going to be sad," I said everything fast, and Jerome flinched.

"Oh..., sorry. Shouldn't have said that," he left with Mitch tagging along behind him.

What happened to me? Why am I so snappy to everyone?

I've changed...

I'm alive outside, but dead inside.

The fire inside me has died.
