Date ?

The concept of dating is baffling.
No seriously just think about it. It requires tremendous amount of courage. For both the parties.

It sends down a shiver that the whole existence of our species depends on it. The courage of two people.

Don't agree?? ..... Fine hear me out.

Just imagine for a guy to walk up to a complete stranger and ASK HER OUT!!. That's INSANE! That requires bravery.

Also for a girl it must be scary. I mean she never knows what she is getting into. Going out with an unknown guy at night. THATS CRAZY!
You never know what he is up to.

I mean
"Get in my car."

" Yeah sure"

"So are you ready."

TO DIE!!???

JEEZ !!!

Then there is the opener or the so called "Pickup Line" . No brainier that's the terrible part that can scare the shit out of a person. One line and that decides whether it's a deal breaker or the cause of a public embarrassment. A single line to judge the mettle.

Speaking from experience.

I had to face such scenarios a couple of times mainly due to parental pressure.
I know the feeling the mind boggling mayhem that goes on in an individual's head. The nightmarish thoughts that occur and causes a shudder.

Ones while walking up to a girl in the neighbourhood I had such thoughts. I was thinking about coming up with an opener you know to "standout" but in the back of my mind it was like 'Dude this is not right, why do you need this just get back home You need a date? there are dates in your refrigerator go have that ........Be cool! Damn.'

I opened my mouth and out came
"Hey long time no see
So stopped by to say HOWDY!"

I mean WHAT??

Now girls are generally not alone. Always in groups giggling. Yes girls giggle and it's not like they are talking about you but sure looks that way.
Anyway something like that had slipped out of my mouth and it had froze time. All sorts of scenarios were playing inside my little head.

Responses like "Ah... No"
Or uncontrolled hysterical laughter "That's funny... " and then followed by awkward silence "Oh no you really thought that would work." And then me running away while I hear them giggling behind. Arrhhhh...... My head was all messed up by then.

All sweaty and miserable I was thinking that by my looks maybe she would let me down easy and save me a month of embarrassment and hide and seek.

And you right there .... Yes you stop "Judging Me".
