Laney Bass the daughter of Beverley Bass the first female American captain of American Airlines walks with her mom through the airport staying close. They get on the plane and go in the cockpit, she looks around and sees many buttons and switches."Laney"her mom said. She looks at her mom and walks over, "yes" she replied. She starts playing with her hair"can you call Dad and tell him that we are going to take off soon" her mom says. She nods and calls her dad"hey Dad.... yah we are going to be taking off soon..... ok..... ok see you in a few hours bye"she hangs up and takes a seat in the back of the cockpit"what did he say?" Her Mom asked"oh he said to fly safely and that he will pick us up at the gate" she said smiling"ok. Buckle up we are going to depart now"her mom said. She hears the announcement and her mom starts departing. They get on the runway and the tower says they are clear for takeoff, her mom flips something and starts takeoff.
One hour later it's all going great her mom is doing her job and the weather is perfect from Paris to Dallas. The flight is ten hours so she closes her eyes hoping to get some rest. Two hours later she wakes up she blinks a couple of times and looks up seeing the seatbelt light is off so she gets up and tells her mom she is getting a snack and her mom nods back. She walks out of the cockpit and sees all the passengers and walks to the back of the plane and grabs a bag of chips and a can of coke cola and walks back to the cockpit and hears something about a threat from the tower and that they need to change the corse. She doesn't say anything and just sits down and listens. Then she hears them say to change the corse to gander."gander?" She whispers"Wait that's in Newfoundland, Canada" she starts to get confused. Then her mom turns on the seatbelt light on so she puts on her seatbelt and try's to forget it and starts eating.
Many hours past and then her mom tells the tower in gander telling them"we are coming into runway two two". After they land her mom makes announcement that they are not going to be getting off the plane, her mom gets up and walks over to her"i will be right back" she said and walked out. She starts panicking then she hears complaining in the cabin and sees her mom come back in and whispers something to the pilot.
