He Tried to Kill Me...

The jolly green giant isn't very jolly.

       

We reached the lab as the sun's rays filtered into it. Vernon arrived not long after us, munching on a jelly donut. Thor arrived milliseconds after that. Fury, Steve, Banner, and Stark were already in the lab. Banner turned to Natasha.

"Did you know about this?" he accused.

"You want to think about removing yourself from this environment doctor?" she seemed to almost stalk over to him, like a hunter. I would know, I am one.

"I was in Calcutta, I was pretty well removed."

"Loki's manipulating you."

"And you've been doing, what, exactly?"

"You didn't come here because I bat my eyelashes at you."

"Yes, and I'm not leaving because you suddenly get a little twitchy. I'd like to know why SHIELD is using the Tesseract to build weapons of mass destruction." The last sentence was directed at Fury. I was interested in his explanation, but I was unprepared when Fury pointed at me, Vernon, and Thor.

"Because of them." he shot at Banner.

"Hey, I beg to differ!" I said, getting a bit mad at their stupidity.

"Five years ago, there was a string of murders outside of DC. Ten people murdered within a month. They'd disappear, only to be found the next day completely shredded. When I confronted the suspect, who was at 9/10 of the sites before the person was killed, there was another attack, and the suspect killed them right in front of me." Fury explained our meeting.

"Excuse me, I saved your ass, didn't I? I only killed that bastard because he was sent from an institution in Russia to bring me back so I could kill more people! Would you rather I kill the bad guys or the innocents?" I got in his face for saying that. Vernon grabbed my shoulders and tugged me away. He had to use almost all his strength to keep me from punching Fury.

"Last year, earth had a visitor from another planet who had a grudge mass that leveled a small town. From these two encounters, we learned that not only are we not alone, but we are hopelessly, hilariously, out gunned." Fury told everyone of the appearance of Thor and Loki.

"My people want nothing but peace with your planet!" Thor retaliated against Fury.

"Yes, but you're not the only people out there, are you?! And you're not the only threat. The world's filling up with people who can't be matched, they can't be controlled." Fury was trying to make this better, but his explanation was really not working. I paced around the room, trying not to snap and kill anyone. Vernon glared at Fury.

"Like you controlled the cube?" Steve scowled.

"Your work with the Tesseract is what drew Loki to it, and his allies. It is the signal to all the realms that the earth is ready for a higher form of war." Thor explained. I rolled my eyes.

"A higher form?" Steve, honey, don't sound so shocked, anything can happen. You are standing in a room with a God, a rage monster, two vampires, a billionaire with no heart(literally), an assassin, and Fury, fighting against a god with daddy issues. Anything can and most likely will happen. Heck, it wouldn't surprise me if Tony messed something up and created a murder bot or a living AI thing.

"You forced our hand. We had to come up with something!" Fury shot back. I spun around.

"You want weapons to kill people who are stronger than you! Well, what happens if those people are stronger, but use that power for good, do one thing you don't like, and you kill them, huh? Then what?" I hissed.

"Nuclear deterrent, 'cause that always calms everything down." Tony added after my insult.

"Remind me again how you made your fortune Stark?" Fury asked, spinning toward him.
