School. Aka the biggest compition over grades. It's all about who has the higher GPA or whose taking the most honors classes. I'm only in two, whereas everyone else is in all honors. I would never be able to do that. Personally, I think it would be too much to handle.
Currently, I'm in my second period class, English. My teacher, Mrs. Johnson always has the same lesson plan. Everyday we learn the same thing. It's either vocab or literature. Sometimes we do a grammer lesson, but it's always about avoiding run-on sentences.
It's 7:30. All I want to do is get out of there. Mrs. Johnson is playing the movie, Romeo and Juliet. She thinks it'll be a great introduction for when we read the play. My teacher stopped the film a quarter way in.
"Come in ready to read tomorrow,"
Mrs. Johnson said.************
The rest of the day went by pretty slow. My day mainly consisted of the boring classes, until I went to ceramics. The second project I'm doing is for the art show. All the students entering have to come up with a theme and make a display for it. I chose to do a "Beauty and the Beast" theme.
The wheels are pretty old here. They're almost as old as typewriters. Every wheel I go to breaks when I'm halfway shaping the clay. I'm currently sitting at the one that works the best.
CLICKTICKATICK!!!!!
Spoke too soon. I pressed the peddle on the bottom of the wheel a little more.
CRASH!!!
The wheel fell apart. All the broken pieces went in a bunch of diffenent directions across the countertop. This is great. What was supposed to be the Chip cup from Beauty and the Beast is now a pancake. All it needs is the maple syrup. Yeah, I'm joking. I angerly kicked underneath the table.
A deep voice behind me said, "Hey."
I jumped back. "WHAT?!?!?," I yelled. Once I looked at him all the color drained from my face like lightning. I feel bad for how I came off to a fine guy like him. His's gaze and grin give off this cocky vibe. His hair is messy, but in a good way. He's wearing a green short sleeve t-shirt with the smock over it. So much of his muscular figure was revealed. The type of body structure looked familiar. The smock made him look like the Wendy's guy. Huh, how strange.
He looked hurt, "I was just wondering where the blue glaze was."
"In the Kilm room on the bottom shelf," I pointed to the back. Maybe I should start working on my temper. That wasn't the best way to react. Like my day couldn't get worst.
Mrs. Harriet came over after I raised my hand, "What do we got here?"
"Another kilm broke."
"We only have 10 more minutes in the period," she explained. "How about you cut out some peices to put onto your finished projects and you start tomorrow. You finished most of your peices and we just started the project. Don't stress out so much about it Evelyn."
I nodded and went to work on the accessories. Her reassurance helped motivate me a little bit. She's my favorite teacher. The one teacher that listens to what I have to say. I grabbed a couple of tools to work the clay.
Since I can't do the actual chip cup I might as well cut out the eyes and the handle. Turning clay into something else is so relaxing. The first time I look at it I see a rectangle with so much potential. It can be whatever you want it to be. Once the tools are in the artist's hands it's all up to them. When I cut the clay all of my problems and worries wash away. It's not about what happens in the outside world anymore. All I can think about is living in the moment.
