General p.o.v:
Millie's eyes fluttered open and she yawned as she glanced down at her watch.
1:23
The night sky outside was dark and freckled with stars. Finn was laying across from her on the cold floor. She desperately wanted to get closer to him, but she didn't want to make him uncomfortable.
She was wide awake now; she knew she wasn't going to fall back asleep. She stretched and stood up slowly, trying not to wake up anyone. She was planning on going for a walk, or do something to clear her mind. All she could think about for the past few days was Finn.
She stepped outside and the frigid March air rushed through her short hair. She admired the sky that was dressed in constellations and the almost full moon. She started to roam through grassy path not far from the airport.
She loved the feeling of the soft moss under her bare feet, the grass between her toes. She wandered down the path, still keeping the airport in her view. She found herself still thinking about Finn. Why couldn't she take this boy off of her mind?
She tried strenuously tried so stop thinking about him, but his brown eyes and mesmerizing smile were permanently drilled into her brain.
She started on her way back to the airport, hopefully she could get some sleep now. She reached for the door of the airport but something caught her eye. Something darted into a nearby bush. She froze, terrified. But she forced herself to go see what it was.
She creeped closer to it, hoping whatever it was wouldn't run off. She peered into the bush, and gawked at what she saw.
A puppy. A small, silky golden retriever. She squealed happily, trying to contain her excitement. The puppy shivered from the cold air. She spoke softly to it as she reached her hand out to touch it, praying she wouldn't scare it off. Her hand met the soft golden fur of puppy, and she stroked it gently.
She backed away from the bush and called for the puppy. It emerged from the bush, covered in leaves. She kept motioning for the puppy to follow her back to the airport, and surprisingly, it did. She arrived to the airport quickly and slowly opened the door, the puppy still following her.
"Finn, Finn! Look!" Millie said as she gently shook Finn.
Finns eyes slowly opened. "Millie... what the fu-"
But before he could finish his sentence the small puppy leaped on top of him and started licking his face. Finn laughed and pushed the puppy off of him.
"Can we keep him?" Millie asked innocently.
"We'll see what Jaeden has to say about this."
"Ok, thank you, goodnight Finn."
Finn sat facing her for a second, and without thinking, he quickly leaned over and kissed her small nose.
Millie's heart skipped a beat. She felt a burning sensation from where Finns lips just were. She slowly laid down, dazed. This time she was closer to him than last time, still not as close as she would like.
"Goodnight Finn."
