"Wake up, wake up!" Brittany yells at her friend, Alice. Alice had tried this before, Sixteen times in fact. "Why won't you wake up?!" Tears starts running down her face. Alice's mom, Courtney ran through the door. Courtney puts something near her nose to make her wake up...
Alice wakes up covered in sweat. "Oh. It's a dream." She gets off the bed and takes off her sheets to wash them.
"Alice? You awake sweetie? Breakfast is ready!"
That was my mom, Courtney. She cares so much about me and she did the best she could taking care of me. My dad started drinking soon after I was born. I've been witnessing my mom's abuse, and she had witnessed mine. I never ready understood why he beaten me. I did all the chores, and most nights I am forced to sleep outside on the porch, and my mom sleeps in the bed of the truck. My mom always tried to help me when my dad beats me, but she's tied up or locked in the bedroom. My dad had forced himself on me and practically made my mom watch, that was the most hurtful thing ever.
"Yeah mom. Okay I'm coming."
I walked down the stairs and on my last step I slip on beer, "AHH! Bloody hell!" I yelled as I fall on my stomach. My mom looks at me with surprise all over her face.
"You okay, Alice? I'm sorry I should have warned you that was there." She says as she helps me up.
"Where's dad?" I ask as I sit down rubbing my stomach.
"Oh, the bar. He said he will be back later tonight." She says as she sits the food down.
We ate then I went off to school. I am doing alright in school, I just hate geometry. I have three friends that mean the world to me. They have helped me so much with my family issues and tries to get me to stop being so depressed all the time. I get beaten and bullied for gods sake, of course I'm going to be depressed. But hey, they try.
"Hey, Alice!"
I turned and saw Brit come my way, alone with Erica and Bradley. Bradley is kind of a shy guy, and nerdy. He's pretty cool though. Brit and Erica are really immature for their age. What I mean is that they take everything perverted, but it's funny. After we walked to our lockers I took off my jacket and I noticed Brit, Bradley, and Erica looking at me weirdly.
"What?" I asked looking at them. Erica reached out and touched my arm, where my elbow was red and starting to bruise.
"What happened" questioned Bradley. He had irritation in his voice.
"Oh, I fell." I responded.
They looked at each other like they didn't believe me, but they didn't argue.
