Ch:6-My World Came Crashing Down

"Some parents can be your best friend and your worst enemy. They will love you and support you at your worst. They will guide you when you lost. They will hug you and make you feel better when the world throws you bad things at your direction. Even when you hurt them badly thousands of time they will still forgive you thousands of time. I'm lucky to have a parents like them. "

Elisa's POV

         The next morning my alarm i.e. my mother didn't wake me up so early because it was Saturday. 'Yaaaayyyy finally my favorite day of the whole boring week. I don't know how Sunday can be anyone's favorite day. Its the day before of MONDAY you know.So I slept for another good 1 hour. Its just heaven I'm telling you. When I woke up due to my internal alarm i.e. the need to go to the toilet. I don't know why the mother nature calls us at the worst of times. But against my better wish I freshen up and came downstairs to see mother cooking. 'This woman should get noble prize for cooking all the time for everyone.' I walked up to her and hugged her from behind. No need for sneaking up as she has eyes on the back of her head,she always know when I'm coming.All mothers are superwoman I'm telling you. "Good morning Cookie. " I groaned at my another nickname and put my head on her shoulder, good thing we are the same height. "Good morning and how many times do I have to tell you stop giving me food names." She chuckled. She always does this. Sometimes it cookie, cupcake,shortcake etc etc. "What are you cooking?" I asked. I tried to look down but she was still chopping vegetables. So I have no idea. "Chicken." She Chuckled and tried to shook me off.   "Yum..hurry up. I'm hungry." That's another fact about me. I love chicken. Like really really love chicken.I can eat chicken in breakfast, lunch,dinner and also in snacks or at any time of the day and anywhere. "No,this is for lunch. Your breakfast is on the table, go finish that. 'Well I tried.' I grumbled but finished my breakfast while making small talk with my mom.
           This is like a unofficial tradition of us. Dad works on 6 days a week so his not home on Saturday. I don't have school on Saturday so my Mom and I spend the whole day together. Like mother-daughter day. She cooks my favourite foods. We talk all day,watch movies or go shopping together. This is the day I look forward to the whole week.
         Today we stayed at home and watched cheesy rom-com movies. But unfortunately the day went by quickly and it was dinner time. " Come on let's eat dinner now. " My mom said as she got up from the couch. She dropped the tissues in the dustbin in the kitchen. I snickered cause she is a sucker for romantic movies and every time we watch any romantic movie she brawls her eyes out. That also happened today. I went to the kitchen and saw her setting table for two people. "Who is not eating dinner?" I asked her confusedly. 'I hope she's not punishing me for laughing at her crying. Because I'm super hungry.' I mentally prayed. "You're father is not gonna be joining us because he have a dinner reservation." She answered when she was putting the dishes with me on the table. "Dinner reservation?" I asked. It sounds like some therapy appointment. "A meeting over dinner with Mr. Kim." She explained. "Oh...you mean dinner date with Mr. Kim." I smirked while wiggling my eyebrows. That man is totally infatuated with Mr. Kim. "You should be careful mom. One day That man can ruin your marriage,you know." I warned her even though I was trying to stop myself from laughing. " Stop messing with me. And you can't talk like at that about your father." She was also trying hard not to smile. "Just saying. Don't come running to me crying when your husband leaves you for that man Lauren." I jokingly called her by her name. She looked at me for a moment before we both burst out laughing.
         After that our dinner went pretty well. When we were finished, I heard my father's car. My work in the kitchen were finished, so I decided to head back to my room. I just wanted to curl up in my blankets and sleep. But my father's voice stop me from going," Elisa wait. I need to talk to you, also you Lauren. Come to the living room."
          My mom and I looked at each other. We were both confused. So we followed him and sat down on the couch when he was sitting on the single one. "I have some good news." He announced. He also looked happy. "What is it?" Mom asked him. " I have two good news actually. He said smiling. His smiling face is 'weird'. " I was trying to get the Kim Corporation to collaborate with us cause it will benefit my company to a huge level. That's why I invited them to dinner. Today I met with him again and he is ready to invest and work with my company." He announced. "Wow. That's great news Vincent. You worked so hard for it." My mother congratulate him by hugging him. "Congratulations dad." I also congratulate him. 'I guess all those courting finally paid off.' I snickered mentally.
        "Thank you so much. Now for the second good news is related to you actually Elisa." I was taken back. 'Me?what did he mean related to me?'
        "They...I mean Mr. and Mrs. Kim also offered another proposal..." He looked at me and I can feel my heart sinking. I knew whatever coming out of his mouth is gonna change my life forever and in a bad way. He looked a bit nervous but quickly that changed into his usual confidence. He continued, "They liked Elisa very much that day and they want her to be their daughter-in-law.
