After the guy left I started walking away using my hand to brush my hair back in place. I looked like a hot mess I could tell, I knew my lipstick was smudged and my dress was twisted. "Anagaile." Smith calls out to me. I turn around, "What?" I snapped. I liked it I really did but he didn't need to know that. "I'm sorry for being a pig. I guess in my head I was thinking that... that what just happened wouldn't happen again so I was taking advantage of the situation." He symphathizes. "Its okay Chase, we had to make it look real... Right?" I turn to walk away and bump right into a woman knocking her over.

"Damnit! I'm in white! Watch it." She hissed. I burst out laughing as she struggles to come to her feet. "Ana you cunt." She jokes and Smith and I help her up. "You're laughing at me? You should see your lipstick." She teases then looks over at Smith. "Uh.. Nice boner Mr. Smith." She says then starts laughing, I didn't even know that I had let that happen to him. I wanted to laugh but he seemed so embarrassed, he took both his hands to try and cover his little friend that was sticking out. "Aren't you guys suppose to be working? Or is this apart of your job?" She laughs and my face begins to heat up. "Shut up Nessa and help me fix this mess." I said. "I'll wait in the car." Smith says before storming off.

"Oops, did I do that? Because I'm pretty sure I didn't interupt you guys did I?" Nessa teases. "You didn't interupt anything. We had to do it or we'd both be dead." I explained. "Sucks. But I'd be happy if I were you. I wouldn't even bother being concerned about my makeup. I'd be rushing to get in that car just so I could jump his bones." I wanted to do just that. But I knew it wasn't me. I knew that it was the wine and the fact that I was horny that caused me to feel that way. He's my partner.. isn't that like unprofessional?

I stepped into the car and Chase looked at me. "I thought you went to fix your makeup?" He said sounding confused. "What's the point I'm going home anyways and to bed." I said. He started the car and we exited the lot. The rest of the ride was quiet. We didn't exchange words with each other until we arrived at my apartment. "Well this is me. Goodnight Chase." I said while reaching for the safety lock to unlock the car door. "Wait." He said softly. "Listen I don't want things to be awkward between us. Idk how long we will be working on this case the last thing I want is for you to feel uncomfortable." He said, he sounded as if he had regret what happened. I didn't. I didn't at all. To be honest... I've worked with this cocky bastard a few times and I've got my eyes on him for sometime. The only reason I told him to wait was because I didn't want it to seem so easy even though I've been dreaming of my moment with Chase for a longtime. It made me feel sad that he was regretting what he did. "Chase it's okay. Really. I'm not uncomfortable, I won't be." I said finishing with the most fake smile ever. It seemed to have work because he smiled back and said, "Great, for a moment there I thought I screwed everything up." Everything? "What do you mean everything?" I asked. "Nothing forget that. Meet me at the café tomorrow morning at 8. We can have breakfast and discuss the case." I nodded my head and exited the Audi rs7.
I was pretty excited that he invited me to have breakfast with him, even though it was to discuss the case I was okay with it because it would be just us.

I entered the café and scanned the room searching for Chase. When I finally located him I was pissed as fuck. Captain. You asshole. I walked over to the table and started to take my jacket off before I took a seat beside Chase. "Morning boys. How are we today?" I took my glasses off resting it at the front of my blouse. I then took my hair and threw it over my shoulders so it rested on my back. "Detective Dubois, I'd like it if you had a little more respect for me. I'm not a boy I'm a man." The captain stated and Chase started laughing. "If you were a man you wouldn't have to be telling people they'd just know when they saw you." I said while winking at him. "Okay Captain, Dubois and I have some information for you." Chase stated. He went back to referring to me by my last name. Maybe it was because of the Captain. Lastnight was the first he didn't call me by my last name. "Wow could I at least have some coffee first?" I said and they both started laughing. I had no idea why because what I said wasn't even funny.

We explained everything to the Captain and now we are outside of Mrs. Hemingway's house. The Captain sent us to find out if she knew anything about the bastard child and to inform her that she should be on the look out for people trying to scam her.

"Before we go in. I want to tell you that I think Mrs. Hemingway is hiding something from us about her husband's death." Smith said. "What exactly could she be hiding Smith?" I asked, "I don't know but we are going to find out. I'll distract her into getting us some drinks while you ask to go use the bathroom, I'll follow her in the kitchen and you do a quick search. Maybe some places that look like an office." He inquires. "But doesn't she have like a housekeeper or somebody that can get us drinks?" I asked confused. "Not on weekends none of them do. They all give them weekends off. "

We got in and stuck to the plan. I went in search of anything that seemed relevant to the case. I couldn't find anything. She either got rid of everything or she genuinely had nothing to hide. Then suddenly I heard like Mrs. Hemingway was yelling, I then heard footsteps coming up the steps quickly. I got out of the office standing in the hallway. What the hell was I going to do? "You detectives are taking me for an idiot. I know she is up there searching my bloody house and without a warrant." She hissed at Smith. I could hardly hear him say anything. I was then looking straight into the eyes of an angry woman. And I was about to face her wrath.
