The sounds of crunching leaves and twigs under my feet relax me as I walk through the beautiful forest near my house on the beach. I never really liked living in the city. I hear the usual laughter at the park. I have always wondered what it was like to have friends and laugh like that with them. At school I never really talked to anyone. People thought I was strange for always being mute. One girl used to try to make me talk. She would hurt me until the end of the day when we had to go home attempting to make me talk. Everyday when I went home I never had anyone to talk to but the stray animals that lived in the abandoned building I would hide in. I had to steal my food to survive and wear only clothes I could get from school. Now that I have a job and enough money to actually buy those things I can be happy. Maybe its like the people laughing at the park on the other side of the trees i'm behind. I start picking flowers from the fields to make my own flower crowns. They do not last long but they are more beautiful handmade with real flowers. As I go to pick my last few flowers I hear a voice speak to me. Her voice soft and sweet. "Oh im sorry to bother you it's just.. I have never seen you around before. My name's Grace." The girl speaks as I turn to her. She had long raven black hair and light eyes that perfectly complimented her pale skin. She was so beautiful. "It's okay.." I say shyly moving my ginger locks of hair out of my face looking at her with blue eyes. "What's Your Name?" Grace asks keeping her distance probably to not startle me. "I'm Riley." I smile still shy since I haven't spoken to a real person in so long. Grace gasps and giggles in her bubbly soft voice. "I have always loved that name!" She was so.. Nice. Why? She must have seen my frustrated face when she spoke again to say "Are you alright? I can leave you alone if you wish." she says almost worried like. I just look away "Im fine." I say still frustrated and grab my basket of assorted flowers I picked. When I turn back to look at her.. She was gone? Like she vanished in thin air. Without a sound or anything she was just gone. I then feel a pain in my hand and realized while I was picking the roses I accidentally cut my hand with the knife. There's a huge cut across my right palm. The crimson blood dripping down the lines of my hand and staining the beautiful flowers. I quickly grab the bandage out of my first aid kit and some neosporin so it doesn't get infected. I rub it into the cut and whimper, a few tears dripping down my face at the stinging pain of the cut. I then wrap my hand with some of the bandage and put it back into my book bag then head home holding the basket in my left hand once the sky goes dark as the sun is setting. I only wonder if that girl Grace will tell the others of her discovery of me and how she just suddenly vanished..
