{^^this is Cameron Brice ^^}
After my friends and I hung out at the coffee shop, Cam and I went shopping before she had to go to work.
"Hmmm what do you think of this swimsuit?" Cam asks holding up a pink bikini top and black high waisted bottoms.
"Cute. What about...." I reach for a black one piece and hold it up to me. Cam rolls her eyes.
"Paige.....you need to show some skin. Here how's this?" She grabs a black bikini top with a ruffle and black bottoms. "Here, go try this on.
I reluctantly go. I look at myself in the mirror. I -unfortunately- look cute. God. Why does Cam know me better than I know myself. "Cam," I call to get her attention.
She opens the door and squeals. My eyes widen as put my hands up to my ears.
"Oops. Sorry. You just look so cute. Come on. Let's go pay for this and then we can go to the beach."
It's not really a beach. It's a lake with sand but everyone calls it a beach.
"Cam you have a job. I'll buy this and you can walk me to the beach like I'm 3, but you have to work."
"Ugh, I forgot. Why do you have to take all the fun away?"
"Because I'm a responsible person. Now go to work."
"What about you! You need to work too!" Cam says, stalling. "I work......I volunteer."
Cam looks at me thinking. "You don't get money from volunteer work." She says silently.
"Yeah well, I still haven't found a good job."
"Typical Paige. Fine I guess I'll go."
After Cameron walks me to the beach like I'm 3, I take off my cover up and walk around in the water.
"Bye Paige!" "Bye Cam!" I call after her. I dry off after a while and go to get some ice cream.
Cause you know... who doesn't want ice cream after the beach?
"I'll have a single scoop cookie dough ice cream in a cone please. Thank yo-"
"I'll have the same." A mans voice says. I turn around in shock. I gasp at his closeness. We almost kissed.
"Cole," I say and then giggle at myself and his smile.
"Hey there, sunshine." Sunshine is his nickname for me. "Hi." I say blushing. "Here is your ice creams that will be $5."
"I'll get it." Cole says digging a 5 dollar bill out of his wallet. "Thank you."
"So,.....how are you?"
"I'm fine. How are you?"
"Good. How are your parents?"
"Good. Mom's still living in Utah and Dad's still living here.""What's your mom do again?" Cole asks.
"She's a writer and Dad's a physics teacher at Christo Rey High School."Cole nods. We start to walk down the street and talk more. "What does your dad do again?" I ask sheepishly. I should know but I don't.
"He works in the military. He actually just left for Afghanistan a week ago. I nod, "Wow. That's-thats good right?" Cole laughs and I smile. "Yeah,"
"Okay." I giggle.
"Do you wanna come over and hang around at my dorm? Tyler left for work and-"
"Sure."• in Cole's dorm •
"Uh sit wherever. Do you want something?" I shake my head. Cole sits down beside me.
*ring ring ring* Cole answers his phone, "hello?......speaking.....what?.....
are you sure?......" tears start to form in Coles eyes."What's wrong?" I ask but Cole raises his hand to silence me. He swallows. "Okay...thank you for telling me. Good bye sir." He hangs up the call.
"What happened. Is everything alright?" Cole shakes his head slowly. He looks confused. "What's wrong?"
"I can't believe it." Cole mumbles to himself. "What Cole! I'm starting to get worried."
"Dad's gone. He-he died in a bombing. He dead." Cole breaks out in tears and falls to his knees.
"Oh my god, Cole. I'm- I'm so sorry." I say trying to hold back my own tears. I kneel down to comfort him. I wrap my arms around him and kiss his head.
"I'm not going to tell you everything will be fine. But-" I don't know why I was talking. What advice would I give him?
Cole gets up and grabs a beer. Another one. Then another. And another. I can't even count how many beers he's had before I cut him off.
"Okay that's it. No more drinks for you mister." I say taking the beer from his hand. "He mumbles something not understandable.
"Come on. You gotta help me. I can't carry you to your room." I say tugging at his arm. "Come on." I grunt. We stumble into his room and he falls down on his bed.
I sigh in exhaustion and in success. He tosses and turns mumbling things to himself.
"Come on-come on! Cole!" I shout trying to get him to stay still. "Can you stay still so I can take off your shirt?"
Okay I know that sentence sounds weird but let me explain. Actually I just think he will be more comfortable without his shirt when he wakes up tomorrow with a massive hangover.
But he won't stay still. "Cole! Okay you know what." I say. I wait until his back is flat on the mattress and then.....
I straddle him. Well this is awkward now. Especially since I've never done this before and the fact that I'm still in my bikini.
Well, at least he's not moving anymore. "I miss you Dad. Please come back." Cole sobs. Ach!! My heart!!!!
I feel so bad for him. I lightly trace his face as his eyes flicker open. "Are you an angel? Am I dead?" He says.
The pain. The pain! I shake my head no. I put my hands on his chest and start to unbutton the first button.
Well, this is where things get misleading. Cole gets the wrong idea. He puts his hands on my thighs and run them up to my hips.
Tingles spread wherever he touches me. I stare at him. Contemplating what to do here. He lifts one hand and puts it behind my neck.
"What are yo-" "shush...." He whispers. "Cole, I-" BAM! No I'm kidding. He kisses me. And it's not at all like our first.
This one is like he wants something from me. He's hungry for something. I pull away slowly. Almost cautiously. He stares at me and pulls me back down to his lips.
Before I realized what I was doing I was kissing him back and nibbling his bottom lip. His hands move up and start to play with the strings of my suit.
He moves his mouth away from my lips and ventures down my jaw, neck, to the top of my collarbone.
I unbutton the rest of his shirt and pull it off his arms. He wraps his arms around me and nibbles my ear.
*knock! knock! knock!*
Shit. I want to ignore it, but he's drunk so he won't stop. "Cole! Hey buddy! I heard about your dad! I came her as soon as I could!" Tyler shouts. I pull away and get up.
I put on my cover up and answer the door. "Oh, Paige. I didn't realize you were here." I clear my throat. "Yeah, I was- I was with him when uh- when they called and told him. I couldn't leave."
"No, yeah I totally understand. How's he holding up?" He says peeking into the room.
"Uh, he's drunk. And asleep. I would let him rest. He is gonna have a major headache tomorrow."
"Yeah. Okay well, thank you Paige."
"Anytime."
