Am I dead?
The paramedics are here now,
And even though they don't know who we are
or what has happened,
they pray for us.
I can feel them praying.
Which also makes me think I'm dead.
I should be in agony.
I'm not crying
even though something unthinkable
has happened.
I am loaded into the ambulance;
A nurse climbs into the back with me.
"You hang in there," she tells me.
