chapter three

The bell rang loudly ending the lesson. I wanted to scream for joy. But I thought that might be a bit wierd and on this case impressions were to be good.

I packed my stuff up and shoved it into my Nike bag. I rapped my denim jacket tightly around my self and grabbed my bag and swung it onto my shoulder.

I walked out of the class room and into the packed corridor. I looked around. Some people were putting things into lockers others were talking.

I kept on walking trying not to get to Much attention drawn towards me. But that failed when Archie and his mates came either side of me.

"Cleo you never answered my question"Archie said

What was he going on about. Then I remembered.

Why is it so important to him. I tried to ignore him and just walked a bit faster.

"You Cant run from everything, someday you'll see that it doesnt work"Archie shouted across the corridor to me.

I stopped suddenly and turned to Archie "and you dont think I don't know that... why do you think I'm in a dodgy part of Glasgow, out of choice. Please tell me why we are all here not because we want to be but because we have to. It's our run away from what ever went on before. I came here because I was trying to not let life catch up with me, I didn't want the fact that my father died to be real I wanted it to be a nightmare and that I would wake up. But no I didnt and that's when real life caught up with me. You are right you can't run from everything but I can run from you" I said angily, I let a tear slip down from my eye.

What the hell? I screamed at myself.

I wanted to blend in, forgotten about after a while. This morning when I got out of bed I wasnt planning to share my life story with a random guy.

Archie and his mates stared at me. I slowly turned away and carried on walking down the now silent hallway, eveybody stared at me as I walked passed.

I take it that Archie and his mates werent the only ones who heard what I Said.

I gulped, personally I was feeling quite self- concious with everyone looking at me.

"Hey, Cleo, are you ok?"I heard a voice shout across the hall. Then I heard someone jog and stop beside me. I looked at the person, luckly it was callum.

"Atalanta, what's wrong?"Callum asked me. I didn't really want to say anything, or share anything more about my personal life.

I didn't even know Callum, very well. Yes, he had stuck up for me and he did seem like a nice guy.

"Come on then, let's go to lunch"Callum said.

I sighed in relief that I wouldn't need to answer, because currently everything was wrong, my life...just everything.

"Hey Atalanta, this way!"Callum said to me pointing towards two doors.

why did he have to call me that. Well at least he called me Cleo in public.

I followed Callum into what seemed to be the lunch hall. I walked over to the canteen and grabbed a tray, a plate, a knife and a fork. I stood behind Callum.

I looked at the little menu which was at the side. It read:

lasagne

vegetarian:

Macaroni cheese

dessert: banana split

"Cleo, hello"Callum waved his hand in front of my face, I blinked at looked at the inpatient dinner lady who was death staring me. What was her problem?

"You tell her what you want"Callum whisperd to me.

I made an o-shape with my mouth and nodded in thanks.

"Could I please get Macaroni cheese"I said politely.

The dinner lady stared at me in concern and I heard a chuckle escape from Callum.

"There is no Macaroni cheese, it is either spaghetti Bolognese or our vegetarian dish " The dinner lady said in a thick Italian accent, I nearly burst out laughing.

"I'll have the spaghetti Bolognese then"I said quite quietly.

"The amount of people that have done that.."callum chuckled "I think they just keep it there on purpose now"callum said, still pissing himself with laughter.

I death stared him in return.

I followed Callum to a table where quite a few people were seated.

"Guys, this is Cleo"callum annnounced to the table.

"Cleo this is Adam" Callum said pointing towards a guy with messy blond hair.

"This is..." I wasn't really paying attention, any more.
