Chapter 2 - Here Today, Gone Tomorrow

At lunch, I made my way out into the courtyard and sat under a tree away from all the other students. I look around the courtyard and notice groups of friends happily chatting away and groan about what I cant have.

I glance down at what I was wearing. Black tight fitting pants, a black tank and a brown hooded leather jacket. Lets just be clear, that pink is not my favourite colour. Looking at what I was wearing and comparing it to some of the other girls, no wonder I didnt fit in. But, I wasn't going to change my look, or change the way I am. Not for anyone!

"Hey, Im Claire" a sweet voice chimes from next to me.

What is it with people at this school? Do I have a neon sign on my forehead saying 'Please talk to me'?

I glance at the girl who has joined me under the tree, and she seems nice.

She actually reminds me of Sasha. My best friend.

She has a petite frame, has clear fair skin, short black hair, and most of her face is hidden by her oversized glasses. I stare into her eyes and recognise an emotion dancing in them: kindness. Her eyes mirror Sasha's and I feel an urge to hug her.

Instead, I smile back at her, and reply "Hi. My name is Cassie" I extend a hand to her and she eagerly shakes it as she replies "Wow. Is that for real...Like your real name?"

I just wink at her, but don't answer her question.

Funny thing is, it actually is my real name. I don't usually give people my real name, unless of course they already know it like teachers and what not.

But there is something about this girl, I just couldn't lie to her. Perhaps its because she reminds me so much of Sasha. Man, I miss Sasha.

Claire is a really easy person to be around. Two of her friends join her - a guy that has the whole goth look going on, and a tall girl who smiles at everything he says. Although Claire introduced them to me, I cant remember their names - even if my life depended on it.

Claire and I have most of our classes together, which Im glad about. I will sit next to her, and not 'stalker'. Claire did mention his name to me, but it didnt really sink in before the bell rang.

One thing for sure though, when I leave this school I will remember Claire. She is a person I will not forget.

Dammit! I promised myself I would never hurt myself this way again.

The rest of the day goes by quickly.

Its the same routine, teachers ask me to introduce myself to the class and I give them the first name that pops in my head. Each time I smile at Claire, who starts giggling.

Near the end of the day, I am looking forward to my final class. I really need to release some of the tension that has been building up during the day.

My day starts to brighten as our gym teacher (who I cant for the life of me, remember his name) announces that today's class will be: Wrestling.

Perfect! The perfect release I need.

The teacher pairs us up with other students, and lucky me I get stuck with 'Panties girl'.

It doesn't seem like her panties situation has improved as she comes lunging for me while unleashing her claws.

Seriously?!? What did I do to her?

Before she is able to do any damage with her claws, I quickly side step her while placing my foot in the perfect spot to send her sprawling onto the floor. I chuckle at her as she quickly jumps up and starts cursing.

She comes for me again, and obviously she is a slow learner because I execute the same move and she is on the floor once again.

'Panties girl' has managed to attract an audience, as the other students watch in anticipation.

I decide to end this. Im not going to hurt her. Much...

I manage to flip her, so she is flat on her stomach on the floor again as I place my knee gently into her back.

I can feel the hatred and anger radiating from her body as she whispers fiercely "You are so dead."

I feel like replying 'Well, actually blondie Im alive and kicking your butt.' Instead, I hold my tongue realising she is not worth my breath.

Then she starts to scream like she is in agony. Hollywood! Im not even pressing any of my weight onto her. She is such a little girl!

Probably trying to get me into trouble with the teacher, but little does she know Ive been in hotter water, than a detention.

I am about to get up off of her, when two strong arms grab me firmly around the rib cage and haul me off 'Panties girl'.

Whoever has the nerve to man-handle me has another thing coming.

This is when 'stalker' makes a re-appearance.

With 'stalkers' arms still wrapped tightly around me, I place my feet firmly on the ground positioning myself for the next move.

Wrestling with 'Panties girl' was ok, but wrestling with 'stalker' is awesome.

Especially considering his size. He is muscular and strong in his own right, but Ive fought "men" before. Not to mention Sheldon, who is WWF in the making.

In a move that Sheldon taught me, I throw 'stalker' onto his front as I press my weight fully into his back making him flinch in pain. I lightly tug at his hair to pull his ear close to my lips as I lean down whispering "I warned you not to touch me."

With that, I jump off him and get hoots from the guys in the class while girls stare at me with envy.

Except for 'Panties girl' who goes prancing over to 'stalker' offering support.

I shudder as I head for the showers, to wash away the intoxicating scent that is 'stalker'. I desperately need to wash his scent away, my reaction to him is just freaking me out.

At the end of school, I make my way to the front of the school ready to walk to my 'temporary place of residence'. I don't call it home, because it isn't, I just temporarily reside there for the moment. Hence, the name.

My car got confiscated so I have to walk, or use public transport. I hate public transport so it looks like Im walking, but I guess thats the price I have to pay.

I knew that stunt I pulled in the last city was a bad idea.

But hey, I was bored - so what's a girl to do?

Ok sure, it wasn't smart of me to do donuts in front of a group of cops at their local hangout (Dunkin' Donuts), and then attempt to lose them through the city while running away in my dark red BMW M3.

Oh well, it sure was fun.

As I descend the schools front steps I notice a crowd gathering around a very nice luxury car.

A yellow Lamborghini Gallardo.

Nice! Wow, these kids must have mega money to drive around in one of those cars.

I appreciate cars, as much as the next car enthusiast so I head straight for it.

I make my way towards the crowd and my mouth drops open and eyes widen as I see the owner standing there explaining the finer details to everyone.
