Chapter 3 - Here Today, Gone Tomorrow
Standing next to the Lamborghini Gallardo is none other than my cousin, Sheldon.
Sheldon is wearing dark jeans and a black tight tee that showcases his tree trunk biceps. His ash blonde hair is shaggy, his green-grey eyes are piercing and his tanned skin is enhanced by the beautiful car next to him.
"Sheldon" I squeal as I charge forward and slam into him hugging and kissing him.
Sheldon returns the hug and kisses me on the cheeks whispering "Hey Cass".
Sheldon wraps his arm around my waist and opens the passenger door for me, as he turns to the crowd "Sorry guys. Ive gotta get my girl home"
As Im sitting in the passenger seat I wonder how Sheldon managed to get his hands on this car. He isn't even in one place long enough to appreciate this beautiful machine.
I would be more than happy to take it off his hands.
Sheldon chuckles as he hops in and asks "You like?"
I shake my head and reply "No. I love"
Before we pull out of the parking lot, I catch a glimpse of 'stalker'.
He looks furious and hurt. What is his problem?
I shake my head and ask Sheldon "Where did you steal this from?"
Sheldon laughs and then replies "I don't do grand theft auto"
I don't believe him so I just reply "Uh-huh"
Sheldon chuckles and then explains "Its a rental. Decided I had to pick you up in style."
I smile at Sheldon thinking 'I thought we were supposed to keep a low profile', I shrug the thought away and decide to enjoy the moment while it lasts.
"So, whats up with the visit?" I ask Sheldon as he starts to weave through traffic with ease. I wonder where he is taking me. My temporary place of residence is in the opposite direction to where we are heading.
"What!?!" Sheldon fakes hurt "I cant visit my favourite cousin?"
"Psshh. Im your only cousin, moron" I playfully jab him in the arm.
"True." Sheldon chuckles "But you're still my favourite"
I just shake my head at him, sometimes he cant be helped.
"Where are we going?" I ask after we start driving through suburbs with really nice homes.
"I have a suprise for you" Sheldon says conspiratorially.
"Stop the car!" I demand.
Sheldon doesn't listen to me and continues to drive through the suburbs in a fashion that has me thinking he is lost. I didnt really expect him to stop, because he never listens to me.
"No" he replies sternly.
I quickly decide against the first course of action that entered my mind. Even though I don't want to play Sheldon's game, I wouldnt risk harm to this beautiful car.
"Can you give me a clue?" I ask knowing this will get a response from him.
Sheldon shakes his head, and thinks better of it and replies "You will like it"
"Not helpful" I mumble as we pull into a parking garage that is monitored by security guards. Weird!
Sheldon pulls up in a parking spot, and gets out to open my door for me. At times, he can be such a gentlemen. Other times, he can be a jerk. But hey, hes family so that cant be changed.
