Chapter Six

I woke up next to a snoring Alan, I rolled over and buried my head into his chest since I didn't want to get up. He let out a small groan and tightened his arm around my waist. I tired to go back to sleep but memories from last night flooded my mind and stopped that so I just laid and watched the ceiling. "G'morning River." Alan yawned, "Morning Alan." I whispered. "Can I help out at the shop today?" he smiled, "Yeah sure. Are you gonna stay over tonight?" I climbed out of his bed and walked over to the mirror while shrugging.

I wiped the smeared makeup from around my eyes and brushed my hair. Alan walked over and hugged me from behind, I leaned my head on his chest and smiled. "What're you gonna do about David?" he asked, I sighed and shrugged "Apparently he doesn't care about me." Alan was about to say something but Edgar cut him off, "Will you two quit cuddling and get dressed? We have work in a hour." he said and walked out.

I put on my jeans from yesterday and one of Alan's t-shirts with the sleeves cut off, I pulled my hair into a ponytail. Alan walked out from changing and I went to brush my teeth with a new tooth brush he found. After we were ready we walked to the boardwalk, I was walking between Alan and Edgar. Alan slipped his hand into mine and I smiled at him, he returned it.

I helped open the doors and we sat up at the counter and watched some tv show since it was still kind of early. I didn't know anything about comics so I couldn't really help anyone but I did read a few. My favorite were the horror ones but the Batman ones were good too. Everything was going good and they were keeping my mind off of David until he showed up around 12.

I knew they wouldn't leave until I talked to him so I told the guys I would be back. I walked up to them while they were sitting on the railing, I hugged Laddie but avoided eye contact with the rest of them. "Let me explain." David said but I didn't really want to be alone with him. "Fine." we walked off to a abandoned corner and he grabbed my arm. "She was just diner." he said but I didn't believe him, "Yeah sure. Then why did you kiss her huh? I thought I was your mate." I said trying my hardest to not let my voice crack. "You are but where did you sleep last night?" he asked, "At the Frogs, I also kissed Alan." I said. "YOU KISSED HIM?" he yelled, "YEAH BUT YOU KISSED HER! IT'S NOT MY FAULT YOU CANT KEEP IT IN YOUR PANTS!" I yelled back just as loud. "Do you have feelings about him?" he whispered, "Kinda." I whispered back not looking at him.

He pulled me into a hug, "I'm sorry." he said and I pulled away. "I have to go talk to Alan." I said and walked back to the shop.
