We trekked down to the masters, each holding a handful of Chelsea's hair. She would be facing them when we entered the throne room—it made for better sport.
"You requested our presence, Master Aro?" Jane inquired when we entered the throne room. Aro stared at the head between our bodies, fury building in his milky red eyes.
"How dare you?" Aro growled. I shrugged nonchalantly with a smirk plastered on my face.
"We don't like your rules," I replied. He snarled lowly, launching himself at us. I froze him in raw energy and approached his body, placing my hands on both sides of his head.
"You do not charge a lady, Aro," I growled. Jane gave a nod, and I allowed her to take his head into her hands.
"I thank you for saving Alec and I, but you have been around for far too long. You've become mad with the little power you posses. You deserve death," she said dryly before tearing Aro's head from his shoulders. Before I knew what was happening, Jane was being tackled by Caius. I froze him and pulled him from my mate, a glare on my features.
"You've just made this a lot more personal. Jane, dear. Your gift?" I inquired Jane. Once she was on her feet again, she glared at Caius. He bowled in agony, and I feel his muscles contort.
"Thank you, Jane," I mumbled. Then I ripped Caius' head from his shoulders. Marcus welcomed death with open arms.
"I'm sorry about what happened to you, Marcus. Perhaps you'll see Didyme in the next life," I mumbled to the willing King. He nodded solemnly, a small smile gracing his features.
"Thank you, Nadia. Cherish your mate forever," he rasped. I smiled kindly with a nod.
"Alec," I called to the male who stood beside Marcus' throne. He held his palms out, and a black fog escaped them. The most encircled Marcus and his eyes became unfocused.
"Goodbye, Marcus. You've always been kind," I mumbled before severing his head from his shoulders. A gleeful cheer emerged from the castle.
"WE SHALL TAKE THE QUEENS!" I shouted. The others released a battle cry and went up to the mates' tower. The women were dry sobbing—no doubt feeling the deaths of their mates. I sneered at them.
"You aren't going to fight, puny ones?" I snarled. The women looked at me with rage burning in their crimson irises.
"You shall pay for what you've done," Athenodora stated dryly before lunging at me. I froze her in midair and snapped her head off. Then I froze Sulpicia and did the same to her. The family was eliminated, as was the tie maker.
"Jane, Alec, and I are the rulers of this world. If anyone dare defy us, they shall be executed," I announced in the throne room once we'd made our way down. The people gave a nod.
"You may tell humans of your vampirism. You may show yourselves. You may hunt in Volterra. And you may kill as you please as long as you do not wipe out an entire town. You are free to leave. You no longer serve the Volturi! You serve a greater being! A being of mercy!" I shouted. That got a cry of victory.
In the end, Demetri, Felix, a vampire named Ingrid, a vampire named Winter, and Heidi were the only vampires who stayed with me other than Alec and Jane.
"Demetri, why do you not return to Amun?" I questioned out of curiosity. He stared at the ground sheepishly.
"My blood-singer is here in Volterra. I cannot leave her," he replied. I nodded in understanding.
"Well, the law against exposure is no longer in place. Go find her," I encouraged with a soft smile. He stared at me in shock.
"Really?" he asked hopefully. I nodded, giving my blessing.
"Thank you so much, M'Lady!" he cheered before leaving the castle in a flurry. I turned to Jane with a soft smile, bringing her into a hug.
"My mate is a human from the Cullen's region," sighed Alec. I looked to the male and smiled.
"Then we shall invite her. I've met Bella's friends and I've been to Forks frequently. What is her name?" I asked.
"Vanessa Sanders," he mumbled. I hummed as I mulled over Bella's friends.
"She doesn't belong to Bella's crowd. Have you met her before?" I questioned. He nodded in response, a smile slowly forming on his face.
"I have. She was lonely, and I was her shoulder to cry on. Took all my willpower not to kill her, but I did it. I stayed strong for her. Can we go to Forks?" he asked. I shook my head in response.
"Why not invite the covens here to announce our leadership? Vanessa can come. Could you take an invitation to her?" I asked. He agreed, and I wrote out a letter for him to take to her. He ran off to give it to her. I noticed that Ingrid had Felix's hand in a death grip. I smiled at the couple.
"I'll have a private living quarter arranged for you," I said, winking at them. Ingrid looked down, embarrassment written on her beautiful baby face.
"Thank you," she mumbled. Felix smiled softly down at the girl, burying his face in her head of brown hair.
I giggled gleefully. This was the way it was supposed to be. I was with Jane, and we were happy. Alec had gone to invite his mate to Volterra, and Demetri was out trying to find his amongst the bustle of people. Felix was happy with Ingrid, Heidi said she was fine on her own for the time being, as did Winter.
We were happy. And nothing could change that.
