R.S. High School. The school that Peridot went to. The school from which she would graduate from this year.
"Oh my stars, I'm nervous!" Peridot said to Lapis. "And... wait..... OH NO!" She said suddenly, "I never got to tell the school what electives I wanted!!! I'm going to end up in something horrible!!!" "Whatever, Peridot. You'll be fine," Lapis told her, "What's the worst that could happen?" "Choir, or band, or theatre, or cooking, or SPANISH!" Peridot said with a look of horror on her face. "Peri, those all sound awesome," Lapis said, getting out of the car with a huff. "So quit freaking out and let's get this damn day over with."
*Time Skip!*
"THEATRE AND COOKING!?! THOSE are my electives!?!! WHY DID THIS HAPPEN TO ME!?!? OH GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME!??!" The duo had just gotten their schedules, and were reviewing them by Peridot's locker. Needless to say, the tiny blonde was not very happy. "Jesus Christ, Peridot, get over it! You like all your other classes, and if you want to take a robotics class so badly, just join a club or something!" Lapis said, slightly annoyed. "You don't understand! I can't do this! I HATE cooking! And I hate crowds! And being in front of people! And ACTING!" Peridot screeched, hyperventilating. "You might hate it, but I think you'll be a natural. You're dramatic enough for it," Lapis muttered, "Seriously, you're gonna be fine."
"And before you go anywhere," the brunette said, pinning Peridot to the locker, "we need to have a little talk." "What, Lazuli? I need to get going!" Peridot exclaimed, struggling against Lapis's hold. "You need to make some friends. HUMAN friends. Robots don't count!" Lapis added quickly, before Peridot could retort. "I'm not going to be with you the entire time at school, and we have different lunches, so you have to......" Maybe what Lapis said next was important, but Peridot couldn't hear her. She was focused on one thing only.
It was a girl. Not just a girl, but a cute girl. No, not cute. Beautiful. She had long, lavender colored hair, warm, chocolate colored skin, lovely brown eyes, a cute little nose, and big, beautiful lips. Those lips were perfect. And they were smiling. A beautiful, toothy smile with dimples. The girl's face wasn't the only beautiful thing Peridot saw. Her thick and short body seemed perfect in her eyes as well. She had to be only an inch or two taller than Peridot, but unlike the little nerd, she radiated coolness. Height didn't seem to matter for her.
The lavender haired girl was talking to a short boy, who appeared to be a freshman. For some reason, the blonde suddenly wished she was in the place of the boy, talking to the beautiful girl and making her smile like that. Peridot kept staring, transfixed on the girl's smile, so nice and warm and.......
"Hey. Hey! Peridot! Are you there!" A voice snapped the blonde out of her trance, bringing her back to the present. "Peridot, you never zone out like that. What were you looking......" Lapis had spotted the girl that had caught Peridot's eye. She smiled mischievously. "Well?" she said. "Well what?" Peridot replied, blushing. "Are you going to talk to her?" "WHAT? NO! No, no," Peridot said, blushing more. She coughed awkwardly. "I was just..... admiring her hair color. I-It's very nice. Yes. Yes, that's all."
Lapis rolled her eyes. "Ok, Peri, whatever you say," she replied, smirking. "Have a good day, dork. And try talking to that girl later today. See you, man." And with that, Lapis Lazuli went off, leaving Peridot alone.
Shaking her head and laughing, the green eyed girl looked around her, seeing if that mystery girl was still around. Unfortunately, she had vanished into the the crowd.
'Ok, whatever, Peri," she said to herself, 'Now's not the time to get distracted. You've got a plan, and nobody will get in your way. Not even cute girls!' Nodding confidently to herself, Peridot went off to her first class. She knew she could handle whatever happened that day, even her new electives.
Maybe.
