Part One: "im not yugi"

Joey fought back tears as he yelled out at the person who had Yugi in their arms. "Give Yugi back you creep!" Yugi has lost the duel, meaning they had taken away Yugi's soul. But even if Yugi was dead, Joey refused to let them take his boyfriends body away from him as well. At least if he got the body back, they could give Yugi a proper burial. 

" Fine, take it. I already have what I needed." Rafael chuckled, tossing Yugi's limp body back down to the ground. Joey caught it, clutching Yugi close, tears trickling down his face as he held him. Somehow, Yugi seemed even shorter than normal, he looked innocent as he lay limp in Joey's arms. Tristan and Duke looked at each other, nodding, before coming to help Joey. Joey was shaking hard, struggling to even hold Yugi's tiny body. 

Yugi slipped out of Joey's hands, falling onto the cold rock.  "Come on Joey, let's bring him back to the trailer. The others deserve to know what happened to him." Tristan murmured, putting his hand on Joey's shoulder. "Don't worry Joey, if you can't focus enough to hold him, we can hold him for you!"

"It ain that Tristan! I think maybe Yug.... I think.... I think he pushed me away!" Joey's eyes lit up, a hopeful happiness filling him. "That might mean that Yug is still.... he might... Yug might still be alive!" Dropping to his knees, Joey shook Yugi. "Come on buddy, ya gotta wake up! I know you pushed yourself outta my arms! Get up Yug!"

Yugi's eyelids began to move, and his body began to breath weakly. His body began to shake violently, but he was alive. He was still in there. 

"Yug!" Joey's voice cracked, and he went in for a hug with his boyfriend. And yet, Yugi shoved Joey away. "Come on Yug, are you all right? Are yas hurt? Don't...don't...don't worry buddy! We'll bring ya to the hospital and have ya fixed up! Just let me pick ya up and put ya in the car." Once again, Joey leaned down to pick Yugi up.

"N..n.n..nn...no...nO!" Yugi started to scream, shoving Joey away. Yugi's eyes were filled with  fear, as if he didn't understand what was happening. "Don...don't..... don't touch me.... I am.... am not Yugi.... Yugi is....gone.... All my.... fault..." He was in obvious pain, and he needed to be taken to care immediately. 

"Don't be afraid of me Yug! It's me, Joey! Ya best friend? Ya boyfriend? Come on Yug, tell me you remember me!" Joey didn't want to imagine what kind of pain Yugi must be going through to not remember him. He had been possessed once, but Yugi had helped him fight back and remember. Surely he could do the same. "I have to pick you up so that we can drive you to the hospital."

"I'm... I'm not Yugi.... don't... don't touch me..... don't..... I'm not...... It's my fault...." Yugi could barely talk, but he was intent on keeping Joey away from him. 

"I don't understand what ya mean Yug.... Wait! You don't think I'd do anything..... q-questionable with ya, do you!?" The shock was overwhelming Joey. "I just want to give you a hug, and take ya to the hospital! Ya need care Yug! Ya can't live much longer if we don't get ya to the hospital!"

Yugi's eyes filled with horror when Joey mentioned death. "Can't let.... Yugi die.... he needs to have something.....something to come back to....." Yugi began to cry harder, but still refused to let Joey touch him. "I don't....don't deserve........ Yugi is..... its my fault..." Suddenly, Yugi began to grab the chain around his neck, which Joey noticed was starting to weigh Yugi's neck down.

"Don't worry Yug! If your puzzle is starting to choke you, I'll take it off! Just hold still and it won't hurt you anymore!" Joey went to gently remove the chain and puzzle off of Yugi's neck, but Yugi turned violently away from Joey and shielded his necklace from being taken off.

"Nn..no...... you might.... kill.... the body.... Yugi needs to have.... something to come back to....." Yugi gasped with a weak breath, before falling unconscious. 

Joey was confused, he didn't know how to respond. Something was wrong with Yugi, he wasn't acting like himself. Duke and Tristan had been sitting back, trying to give Joey some space. But now, they both helped Joey lift the unconscious Yugi into the truck they had ridden there in. As they drove back they began to try to make theories on what Yugi was trying to say.

 So far, their best standing theory was that somehow, in some way, Yugi had managed to seal part of his soul in the puzzle before his soul was taken away, and that what was left of Yugi had only fragments of who he was.

And oh, how wrong they were.
