Piper
The night before the feast of Fortuna, Piper slept as well as the hephaestus cabin, which is to say, not well at all. As a favor to Annabeth, Piper would sit on the docks with her and watch the sun get swalled by the horizon. Piper would listen to Annabeth ramble on about greek architecture. Half the time, Piper didn't know whether or not Annabeth was even speaking english, but had long since given up trying to ask her to slow down. Most of the time, Annabeth was busying herself with the building of the Argo II, but when she wasn't, Piper thought Annabeth was a ticking jar of Greek Fire just waiting to explode. Sure, on the outside, Annabeth was really strong, and she didn't show even the slightest sign of being weak. But for some reason, Piper understood what Annabeth needed. And thats why Piper listened. But the evening before the feast of Fortuna, after Piper had gotten tired of listening to Annabeth ramble on about some building in England, Piper told Annabeth that she was going to bed. Annabeth nodded and said goodnight.
Piper walked off of the dock and toward the cabins. When she reached the cabin that resembled a life size doll house, almost everyone else in camp, who weren't working on the Argo II, where sound asleep. After lying down in her bunk, Piper stared at the ceiling of the aphrodite cabin. In the darkness her eyes fell out of exaustion and she was pulled into nightmares as disjointed and as scary as ever.
Piper found herself in a parking lot with tree lined side walks and rows of food trucks lining the streets on all for sides. The smell of Korean tacos and Japenese sushi filled Piper's nose, making her hungry. The tempting aroma steaming from the front of the food trucks was not as appetizing as the backs of them. Behind the food trucks trash cans where turned over, spilling their contents all over the cement. The food trucks, however, didn't stay on Piper' radar for long. The movement of A big Pink blurr caaught her eye. Piper's eyes flitted over to the pink, and in the middle of the parking lot an old man was standing in a flourescent pink Hello Kitty bathrobe. In one of his hands, weirdly enough, was a weed whacker.Sitting next to the old man was a little food stand with all sorts of food on the table, ranging from cinomen rolls to crafts macaroni and cheese. And in front of the food stand where three teenagers. From across the parking lot, she could see that one of them was some pudgy asian guy. Next to him was an angry looking dark skinned girl with hazel nut hair. In the girl's arm there was a red blurr, maybe it was a bird? And in front of the Hazel Nut girl was a lean boy, maybe 16 or 17, with black hair. Some memory in the back of Piper's mind dinged. Where had she seen that boy before? From across the parking lot, Piper could tell that the boy was talking to the old guy in the bathrobe. Piper hopped over the bushes separating the parking lot from the side walk, and ran across, jumping over a few over turned trash cans. When Piper was about 5 yards away, she got a better look at the boys face. Sea green eyes, black hair. She had seen this boy before, on the wall of fame in Chiron's office, with his arm around a blonde girl Piper knew only too well.
The boy was Percy Jackson.
