Where Are You Hermoine?!

Fortunately, my feet were in my shoes and out the door by nine o'clock. We arrived at Hermione's dorm just in the nick of time, if not a little early. Although, Hermione was no where to be found. Each Ron and I called her name several times, but I suppose she couldn't have heard us from our spot out on the front steps. Personally, I found this strange, because I thought it was impossible for our female friend to pass up an opportunity to beat us at something. "Come on," I hurriedly instructed Ron to do, as I stepped up my pace and jogged to the side of the dorm. 

"Hermione!" We called once more. When we were replied to with no answer, Ron and I continued jogging, around to the back this time. Ron reached the sliding glass back door first, as he turned my way with a look of misbelief and regret, beginning to yell for assistance, running inside. I was shocked. The door had been left open.

The floorboards creaked as I stepped inside as well, following Ron's lead. It appeared just to be the two of us inside, everyone else must've already left to begin their days. Although there was no reason to keep quiet, an irritated Ron gave me the signal of silence, a finger held up to his lips. "Hush! I think I hear something!" The whisper caught me off guard in the inaudible atmosphere.

As the air fell silent once again, I too heard something in the distance. Perhaps it was a whimper, some sort of cry for help? This time I'd be leading our duo, following the sound back to it's source. Past the ransacked living room, and two bedrooms, stood yet another bedroom, the door slightly cracked open, as if someone tried to slam it a bit too hard. I stood there a few seconds, wondering if i wanted to know what would lie behind the door, before Ron pushed me out of the way to open it himself.
