Aidan's Pov
I was walking along the Santa Monica Pier. I figured since I'm stuck here I might as well get used to the place. My mom moved us here from London, England after the incident at my last school. She remarried and this was all his idea. I can't stand him, but I TRY and stay calm...for my mom. Anyway, I've been here a few weeks. I've tried making the unpacking process as long as I could, but Anthony, my mom's husband, decided that it's time I go to school. In all honesty, I don't give a flying fuck about school. When it was just me and my mom, she homeschooled me which I thought was a lot better than public school. Then Anthony came along, it's a mutual hate between us. My mom doesn't see it, but Anthony hates me because I'm more man than he is. Literally. My real dad hated me from the second I was born. He didn't want a daughter, especially not one with a penis. He stuck around for a while, but he was just too embarrassed by me. I haven't heard from him since I was 5. My mom and Anthony got together when I was 10, and 2 years later, they had Carlos. I'm 18 now and I love my 6-year-old brother, even though Anthony isn't a big fan of me being with HIS son too much. Well anyway, Anthony is the reason I have to go to Bayview High School, and it all leads back to why I'm here at the pier. Trying to make the most of this shitty situation.
Lauren's POV
I absolutely adore going to the pier! It's early Sunday and I love to jog out by the pier. I'm usually too busy to come to the pier recreationally so when I run by the pier, I slow my pace and enjoy the view. I'm usually too busy between cheerleading practice, student council, and homework to hang out. I know it sounds like a lot, but honestly, it's gonna look great on my college applications. On this particular morning, I decide to slow down to a walk and admire the pier because God knows I rarely fit moments like this into my schedule, and so far today, I'm 20 minutes ahead of my schedule. As I'm walking through, I admire the people having fun with their family and friends. I look out to the ocean water as it hits the shore. As I kept walking, I bumped into someone, "I'm so sorry!" I looked up at him, "I wasn't looking where I was going." He nodded, "No worries love." Woah...that accent..That voice. He continued, "It's my fault." She? Was this a she? They're smoking hot, I'll tell you that much. She has short blond hair, a septum piercing, and tattoos that seem to have been started but not completely finished. I tried to find gender markings but to no avail. I shook my head, "No worries. By the way, I love your accent. You're British?" They nodded, "Yeah. Moved here with my mum, little brother, and my mum's husband." I smiled, "Well welcome to Santa Monica Stranger." They laughed, it was a rich beautiful laugh, it rang in my ears. "My name's Aidan Campbell." She gave me a wide smile and put her hand out to shake mine and I smiled, "I'm Lauren Jauregui, nice to meet you." She nodded her head, "Same to you." They nodded as they adjusted their shirt. Boobs, a girl. She's a girl. I blushed, I thought a girl was hot! "You alright love?" Her voice rang in my ears and I nodded, "Yeah, I just have to get going." She nodded, "Alright, maybe I'll see you around." I nodded and went back to my jogging trail. Wow, I was momentarily attracted to a girl.
Monday Morning
Lauren's POV
I woke up to my alarm blaring with the sound of my boyfriend, Luis's, voice. I quickly shut off the alarm and continued my morning routine and hoped in the shower.
Aidan's POV
I woke up to a blaring alarm and multiple knocks on my door. "Aidan hurry up!" It was Anthony and I rolled my eyes, "Shut the fuck up! I'm coming." With that, he walked off and I hopped into my shower since Anthony refuses to share one with me and I don't mind one bit
No One's POV
Both Aidan and Lauren continued getting ready. Aidan thought of all the California kids and how dumb they'd be compared to the kids of the glorious British empire. She shook off her thoughts as she grabbed the keys to her black 2016 Cadillac ATS-V. "Aidan! Make sure to come straight home after school!" yelled her mother, Miranda. Aidan nodded and smiled at her mom, "Don't worry mum. I'll come straight home." Miranda gave her daughter a smile and with that Aidan drove away. Lauren rode to school with her boyfriend Luis. Luis was the captain of the football team making Lauren and himself the hottest and most popular couple at Bayview High. Lauren sat in the passenger seat of the blue 2016 Camaro quietly as Luis droned on about a football game with the guys. Lauren found herself thinking about that girl she met at the pier. Lauren tried shaking the thought of the girl from her head, after all, she wasn't gay. She has an amazing boyfriend sitting next to her, but something about Aidan just kept Lauren's mind racing. "And here we are my love." Luis' words pulled Lauren out of her thoughts as she smiled and kissed him. He looked at her smiling from ear to ear, "What was that?" She shook her head, "What, a girlfriend can't kiss her boyfriend?" Luis smiled leaning in and kissing her, "Absolutely." They both smiled at the kiss, but for the first time, she felt something was missing. Both Luis and Lauren got out of his car and walked into the school while the couple separated and Lauren was greeted by Camila, Dinah, Normani, and Ally. Their morning routine on Monday consisted of talking about their weekend and quickly figuring out cheerleading practices and student council meetings. Outside, the black Cadillac parked right in front of the school. Out walked Aidan sporting black ripped jeans, a Nirvana t-shirt, a black beanie, and black shoes. Her signature gauges in and her piercing tucked in her nose and out of sight. Her tattoos fully visible as she adjusted her shades and walked into the building. All eyes turned her way as she walked in, and the rumors started immediately. Lauren and her friends looked over as Aidan took off her shades and hung them on her shirt and that's when their eyes met. "Wow, that's Aidan Campbell," Camila whispered to the girls, her eyes glued to her. "She got kicked out of her old school," Normani added. "I heard she stabbed one of the teachers," Ally chimed in. "Yo dog, I heard she got her tatts in prison," Dinah added. Lauren gulped a lump that formed in her throat, that couldn't be the same girl she met at the pier. Aidan sent over a knowing smirk and Lauren knew that was the same girl from the pier. Aidan assessed her surroundings as she saw a slim, dark-skinned guy approach Lauren and wrap his arm around her. Her boyfriend. Aidan saw the guy say something to Lauren and the other girls, and with that, they turned and left. Aidan looked at her shoes, put her shades on and found her way the main office. Fuck, a preppy... Aidan thought to herself, This can't be good.
The picture is of Aidan, enjoy.
